GAME DAY !!!! Premiers v Pensioners

Anyone at the game can you tell me what ‘role’ castagna is playing these days? I am not being a smart arse. I just don’t understand how a senior player can disappear so effectively??
It’s all about pressure acts George is definitely putting pressure on the rest of our players by offering nothing

He kicked one at right angles straight out of bounds.

Edwards made a comment last week about it being good to be the hunters for once. Tonight we looked tired of being hunted. The will to work through it wasn’t there. Lot of disposal not going to the advantage of teammates.

I think this is a good point. We did look tired of being hunted.

A mate (an old PRE poster) just sent me a text saying we played assumptive footy. I think he was right. We assumed a lot, and it didn't happen. The will to work just was not there.

Comeon everyone......

3 of the last 4 flags??

None of us should be complaining, on the contrary, Richmond is the team everyone wants to be.

Whilst we all would like another premiership, we have had one of the best stretches of success anyone could wish for.

But dont write us off just yet, 2018 taught me that being favourites makes things a lot harder.

We usually start inconsistantly then steam roll all in front in the second half of the season......... we will be there again at the pointy end of the year.

Cattery last week steal defeat from the jaws of victory, Costa carks it & the whole revenge thing....10 goals seems about right.
Lack of fight in the losses is a big worry & our defensive prowess has gone missing big time..

Haven’t seen us turn our toes up since the Dees game this year. I’m worried tbh.

This is exactly why I find "Today's Football" very very challenging at times to watch.............. players of this era just seem to switch off whenever things go against them and thus just go through the motions.

Not worried in the least, give the Pussies their May/June/July/August celebrations, they and every other team in the game know the Tiges will "Be at their Best come Sept"'

The epitome of a brilliant frontrunner ..... Gary Rowan. Enjoy your "outstanding performance mate", because as everyone is well aware (team mates included), that's your year over and done with, wont be seen again until next year now, you are a deadset dowhiller if ever there was one and a piece of *smile* humanbeing to boot, classy Gary.

Most concerning thing about tonight for me is Shedda's injury, scoreline is of little concern, no different to the Dee's game, there'll be weeks like this where we are left scratching our heads, but I still and more important the other 17 clubs still believe, the Tiges will be up and about come the time of the year that counts the most.

Get blokes match fit and ready to go for Sept is what should be Dimma and the Clubs main objective from here on out and put some heat on a couple of "senior blokes" who STILL aren't pulling their weight to be getting a game on current form.

You have to remember we are coming off the worst team preparation since footy turned professional.

We were always going to start slowly this year, and we've shown plenty of signs that our best footy is still as sharp as ever. 4 and 4 is a good result, especially with the way the draw opens up for us.

Lambert, Grimes, Cotchin, Prestia, Vlastuin coming back, and MRJ will electrify the competition once he plays. CCJ is another who could have an impact.

Put those 5 in, take Mansell, RCD, Ross and whoever else you like out and you've got a very different composition.
Without being alarmist- cotchin Edwards houli and Prestia look an injury away from the end. At some point we won’t bounce back. It may not happen again. We all should have known that vlastuin fresh back will never equal grimes. I expected to lose. I must say, losing doesn’t feel half as bad sober though :)

Understandable, but biggest disappointment in this loss is giving away a good lead by simple basic errors.

Tigga's first game back from an extended injury lay off, can't expect him to be at his best.
Well yes that's basically what I said the previous post I was replied to

Rohan has killed Vlastuin. Vlastuin will be better for the run.

2019 we had a glut of injuries and Stack, Baker, Balta, Bolton, Higgins, even Ross stepped up and kept the train on the tracks until the regulars returned. Would you be confident going up against a West Coast or a Brisbane that RCD, Naish, Ross, Dow, Martyn can hold up their end of the log?

I'm not blaming these players, just saying they haven't shown they can be competitive when the team leaders are down or missing.

Not the end of the world
It allows Hardwick to start to change things up.
We do need another marking forward.
We do need another tall to help out in the ruck
I think we either try something different otherwise i can't see us winning it with the same 18 again.
