Game Day: Last game of 2023 vs. Port

Give it away Dylan. You’ve been awesome but you’re done. Constantly getting beaten one on one, week to week. Constantly going to ground. Free kicks against galore.

It’s over Champion.

With a smidge of luck, better goalkicking, and a fair go from the umps, we could have almost pinched this game. Which is not what I expected to be typing a couple of hours ago.

We know our deficiencies up forward and if it weren’t for them we were well in this game against a top 4 team.
We didn’t deserve a 5 goal loss we outplayed them around the ground for long periods of the game.
I’m glass half full from today but we have to fix the forward half

Been some home team umpiring in the final quarter today. Was fairly even until this 4th quarter. HTB frees paid one way, Taranto held not once but twice when trying to get the ball inside 50, neither paid. The most obvious throw by Rozee near the centre circle not paid (it was a double hander).

Thats also probably the softest dangerous tackle we'll ever see.

Pretty happy with the way the boys have played though, the 1st half is where we lost this one though, with our inability to hit the scoreboard enough, they were much more clinical in the 1st half and we didn't score heavy enough, either from number of shots or shot accuracy, but plenty of good signs for the young cubs.
