We took too long to get going today & not playing two rucks from the start was a huge selection error. Until halfway through the second, we looked flat & poor at the contest.

Ironically the gutless act which took Prestia out gave us two rucks which then helped right the clearance issue. Great fight back but we just needed to win.

Has there been any word on Team selection and WHY Soldo was the Sub, which I am still scratching my head over.

Would really like to hear the thinking behind that move from the selection commitee, not having a small/running/mid type in that position today as it turned out, was quite costly.

So many mistakes. Those two misses from Shai and Lynch were absolute sitters. Then Lunch missed that mark 25m out in front.

There's three goals.

I bloody hate Geelong because they always seem to be around the mark and they always lift for us. We do so much to shoot ourselves in the foot.

It's hard to take positives from close losses.

Anyone who has played footy knows that was intentional. I only ever hurt somebody by accident once and it was a bit like the Houli incident. Every other time was on purpose-but it was different times back then, and I wore my fair share too.

Great fight back , but no composure at times cost us this season and plain dumb footy shouldn't be making those errors. Some costly misses to.

All I can think is that the Geelong coaches emphasised that if there was a chance to fairly take out Prestia then do it. And he initially thought he could bump him fairly and then when he couldn’t he didn’t pull out.

On the Prestia incident and why play didn't stop, the criteria is pretty clear for that because of the obvious potential to use it strategically. Basically play only stops if the injured player is in the immediate vicinity of play or if the stretcher enters the field.

In that instance the ball only went remotely near him on stop plays with a mark or a free kick so no reason to stop the game. We could have called for a stretcher but no staffer would use that as a tactical tool if it wasn't required.

It's all good. Stewart's actions won the game for Geelong. He illegaly knocked out our best midfielder in the first quarter and they kicked a goal in the 3 minutes we were trying to get a severely concussed player off the ground. We lost by 3 points.

Geelong and the AFL are happy. All that matters.

After getting home, I turned on Fox Footy...it was the half time break for the Swans v Saints game, and the idiot panel were talking about our game.
These *smiling* clowns acknowledged that Stewart did the wrong thing by knocking out Prestia, but all they could crapon about was how his teammates came up to him after the incident, and at the qtr time break, to offer support because he knew he acted on instinct and that he didn’t mean it.............are you *smiling* kidding me!!...NOTHING about the fact that Prestia was knocked out and will probably miss the next 2 weeks, and that we were then effectively a player down (one of our best players)..
Seriously, I’m livid..it’s about time the Tiger management take a stand and say “enoig( is enough”.....the AFL and the media are corrupt....well, the AFL are corrupt, the media are just a bunch of gutless AFL puppets..

Also, they made a point that Stewart was very remorseful but purely acted on instinct, hence all the sickening love and sympathy.
As far as I’m concerned, if you elbow a player to the head, well and truly off the ball, and that’s “instinct”, then you are a DOG!!!

Often when we kicked long to a contest deep in F50, the ball spilled over the back and we NEVER seemed to have a small forward their to swoop. But the Cats ALWAYS seemed to have Stewart there to mop up. Did anyone else notice that, or am I making it up?

We love to have 7 fly and no one down, in fact I'm positive it's practiced at Training and anyone NOT flying haphazardly does extra pub runs and misses out on Pie Nights.

Rubbish! He‘s showing remorse coz he knows he’s missing the next 4 weeks. It was intentional, he was far away enough to avoid contact. He intentionally charged at him and took him out.

Interesting assessment. So you believe he was not remorseful because it was out of character, but only because of the likely penalty? You and those who Liked your comment, obviously have a poor view of Tom but I prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt. Most of the video is in slow motion which distorts the very short time he had to change direction but the execution of the bump was very poor and so he will pay the price in weeks to think about it...because he chose to bump.

I think you take that stuff with a grain of salt, footy supporters aren't the most rational people when it comes to their own side.
