Game Day: Crows v Tigers

As I said in the Ryan thread, he gets his arms held in just about every marking contest, someone needs to shove this in the face of the useless maggots - adjudicate the rules you F*&cking morons.

DS

Yeah I agree. The amount of times we see him go up one-handed in the AFL compared to taking both hands up when playing in the VFL. Have a guess why only 1 hand goes up in the AFL??

Was amazed by all the Area 51 players flopping and doubled over.
The Irishman v Kosi.
After hanging onto him all night.
I think the ruck guy against Nank.
Collapsed on the floor liked he'd been pole axed.
No free kick so he got up.
If Optimus Prime had done that he'd be up on simulation charges.
Very soft the Crows.
Then again they are used to the arm chair ride with all the frees they get over there.

Nank when their ruckman went off dominated as he should have. But still good effort to lift when we needed it.
We blow up over the slightest. Imagine playing one 6 game ruckman with barely a rotation against Nank. Nicks broke him and then tried to play the backup solo in the last. They messed up bad.

I couldn't get a good internet signal for the match but the replay did its job as I managed to avoid knowing the score. Anyway, I thought the Tigers are finally finding the will to win. It wasn't always pretty but with the desperation at times we got the points. But we sure do make it hard for ourselves

Is going on a early bye unfortunately
Yep stupid effort by Koshitzme. Reckon the pointy elbow went straight into the solar plexus perfectly. Left the poor old Crowbait collapsed n sucking for air.

The thing to remember is that the crows are slow in the midfield, it is one of the reasons why I gave us a chance last night. It is really important that we use our draft hand to get line breaking mids.

You get see it when Shai went into the middle and how well Bakes played, they were something the Crowbots didn't have

Has it been mentioned on here, at 3qtr time, Balta looked at camera man like he wanted to fight him.

Great win by the lads, very enjoyable watch. Forgot how good those unexpected wins are when you're no good, lets not get too used to it though.

Some notables:

Taranto - How much did we miss this guy, he is the glue that holds our midfield together. Clean and calm in the contest, wins his own footy, really good.

Nank - Two dominant performances in a row from Nank, he absolutely loves belting up on young or inexperienced oppo rucks, almost like he takes it personally that they would dare line up against him.

Balta - He is a defender, and a bloody good one.

Miller - Rock solid, calm with the footy. I'd written him off as a footballer, eating my words.

Baker - Gun, pay the man.

Short - Much improved, still not at his JDM best but it was clearly his best game for the season, hopefully will gain some confidence from it and that's the baseline going forward.

Mansell - This guy loves the contest, never going to be the most skillful player in the side, but not everyone can be.

Dow - Thought he was better in the contest, still not completely sold but he wasn't getting ragdolled by oppo midfielders, and took a couple of good contested grabs.

Brown - He actually impregnated me with one of his kicks, I'm going to be a dad.

Dunno if anyone's mentioned it but first time I've seen the new clash jumper with the sash on the back and white numbers. Not a fan.

While I agree the Cumbo incident was silly, I see that sort of thing happen in so many games without a free being given I thought it was a massive over-reaction. Then the Crows players piled on Cumbo and somehow that was all fine?

Thought the umps actually showed a little tiny slither of potential. A few instances where players were pinged when they clearly did have prior and a few instances where the tackled player had no prior and the called for the ball up quickly. Still a lot of howlers and a ridiculously unbalanced free kick count - if only we were given the frees our opponents get! Does every team we play give away less frees when they play Richmond? Well, Adelaide did tonight - gave away 17, average is just over 18.

As I said in the Ryan thread, he gets his arms held in just about every marking contest, someone needs to shove this in the face of the useless maggots - adjudicate the rules you F*&cking morons.

Good points. Watch the Adel player when Cumbo approaches, he collapses as he is pushed. And then it should be reversed when Cumbo is assaulted. But that would mean applying the rule consistently.

And Sampson's arms were interfered with often, how can they not be when his opponent is so much shorter and is trying to spoil. I note the Crows got a couple of those type of frees (one against Broad cost a goal and one against Short late setup a late goal for theml)

As you suggest,m it is the frees we do not get that is annoying. How was a free not paid against Dawson?

That was the best, did you notice the camera panning further and further away.

Was protecting Cumberland from the invading camera. Fantastic leadership.

Lots of positives today but we do need to keep this performance in perspective a little.
I believe Adelaide was the youngest team of the round. They have lost a few key personnel & have dropped off a cliff.
Sure it's a start & hopefully we build from here with a few guns of our own returning but an in form Hawks will be a bigger test.

The first gamer who had the set shot to get them within a kick with 2 or 3 minutes left, crapped his pants, you knew he'd spray it as soon as he went back from his body language, I was rapt he sprayed it, but I actually felt for him.
