Buckley has said he won't speak to anyone until after his Under 16 coaching commitments are over, which is in a couple of weeks.

He will speak to the club then.

No Longmire...thank god for that

Yep. Whilst there's been suggestions from a few that Horse has applied, once again Snatchy has the truth.

Sumich is interesting. Wonder what comes with him. Pretty experienced. Appears a serious low-key sort of bloke. Maybe a smokey ?

Sumich has been a desperado for coaching for some years now, so if he didn't get the Freo job, are there some negative signs about him?

Shall we roll out the red carpet so his highness doesn't get his feet dirty on the way in?

Gotta admire his priorities.
U16's are way more important than AFL. ???

Sounds like stalling to me. If he doesn't want the gig, thats cool, lets move on and review the other options.

My money is on bucks being an assistant somewhere now in 2010

hutchy is a classic

gets his info from forums and then delivers it on TV like he is a news breaker, what a joke

Yep, get some more experience, take on the Pies job when Mick goes in a season or so.

Interestingly Malthouse might cotton on to this. Could we see Mick at Tigerland next season?

Unlikely if the Pies keep playing as they are.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Eddie and Mick are having a good chuckle at all this. I suspect the reason they have not signed Mick is because they have agreed to terms and decided to keep everyone guessing and some publicity around Collingwood. Eddie never likes it when we dominate the papers for less than self destructive reasons and he might hope by helping creating distractions with two candidates he can help us get distracted/waste time.

I've always said I am not convinced Nathan is a certainty for collingwood and Ed, but it wouldn't surprise me either if Bucks is in on it and the trio (Bucks as an Assistant) are having a right royal chuckle. Who knows.

You reckon Mick would want the pressure of having Bucks as an assistant at Collingwood? Doubt it but funnier things have happened.
Malthouse has been at the Pies for a long time now as coach without taking them to the next level. Despite their string of wins and possibly being the best of the also rans, they are still well off the pace of the top 3 IMO and not really threatening for the premiership again. Aslo it will not take much for the Scumwood fans to jump off the Micky wagon again if they lose a couple or drop out meekly from the finals. I think we will be talking to him and have not yet totally discounted him being at Richmond next season.

Other way ‘round. Pretty sure scooty got that list from Snatchy. He’s a very giving guy you know.

So what you're saying is that Snatchy has the finger on the pulse and scooty just has his finger on the snatch?

Buckley has publically stated that he will not be an assistant under Mick Malthouse. He said this on 3AW round about the time Wallace left. His reason behind this was that he has learnt all he can from Mick during their time at Collingwood together.

That's the spirit.

Is there anything quite like hubris?

I'm surprised he stayed at Collingwood for the whole of the Tony Shaw era. He would have been thinking like this on the first afternoon.
