Well said spook. They’ve given us every reason to believe it’s true.
True, it would be kind of like someone claiming our free kick deficit is because we have a few players who give away a lot of frees while ignoring most of our opponents would too.
Well we have 6 players in the top 60 in the competition for frees against, including two in the top 5 so there's not much doubt we are elite at it.
My bet is no-one would have any trouble naming the six and I'd be surprised if there is any other statistical category in the sport where one team has 6 in the top 60.
Of course if you believe the umpires are cheating that is just confirmation really.

Kennedy, Marchbank, Lamb, Plowman, Pickett, Phillips and Setterfield are few off the top of my head.

The only guy in the media I’ve heard back us up is Dwayne Russell. Said several times yesterday that if clubs aren’t run well enough to avoid cap issues, develop an environment that makes their players want to stay etc etc then why should anyone be claiming that there needs to be greater equalisation, help etc for them ? Why should a less competent club than Richmond be afforded assistance just because they’re not performing well enough v Richmond both on and off the field ?
He then said “full credit” to Richmond for managing their list professionally, attracting players, creating a culture and environment that makes players want to stay - often on unders - and showing other clubs how it should be done.
And finally, he mentioned that Gale, O’Neal, Hartley and co are obviously outstanding people and operators and that maybe other clubs should look at their personnel a bit more rather than expect endless concessions. (Thought that was a bit of a shot at the very overrated Dave Matthews).

The media choose to conveniently forget that this is happening due to the Giants’ incompetent list and salary cap management, not because we’ve chosen to ‘raid’ their list. AFL is a competition, on and off the field. Success is our objective. We play fair, and within the rules and we get criticized and labeled bullies. I thought this was elite sport.

And as long as North demand and expect handouts they will be stuck at the bottom.
There are heaps of examples of clubs getting themselves out of the bottom of the ladder. Sometimes I think media want to have 6 premiers a year so everyone can share.
