You've got to say, it can't be all those coaches to blame. Because if you're saying 16 years of poor coaching, then the entire footy department has screwed up with coach after coach and are incompetent.
The sample size is just too big for it to be them alone.

Oh my god. The great man Adrian Dodoro has managed to completely stuff up the D’ambrosio trade. He knocked back pick 63 from Hawthorn but “didn’t know” the rules around a 3rd year rookie. Because the bummers only offered D’ambrosio another 12 month rookie contract means he is a free agent under the rules surrounding 3rd year rookie players. He walks to the Hawks for nothing. Oh dear. And he was head of their recruitment/list management. Damn. I will miss him.

A word of warning to others. With him leaving, Essendon may actually improve their performance at trade and draft time. This is not a good development in my eyes. He has done a great job in making them a Pariah club at trade time and has held them back.

I hope that like his mentor Sheedy, he will linger on in the shadows destabilising things at Essendon.
