Essendon = Entitlement

Barham reckons they have plenty of outstanding candidates to choose from. ... that being the case, I bet it won't come before every one of them is investigated within an inch of their lives!
They've sort of boxed themselves into a position now of having the squeakiest clean CEO to ever become CEO...!

Anyway, if you were in the running and had been overlooked. .... why would you accept it now?

Best mate is a bombers supporter. He hates them but can’t tear himself away from supporting them.

They’ve gone the quick fix since the PEDs debacle and have not learned their lesson. They refuse to learn. So it’s entirely on them for finding themselves where they are.

Yes. The list includes “Rotten” Ron Andrew’s (to bring some animal back to the playing list), “Crackers” Keenan, so named because….he is a bit mad…and actually applied and a Dan Andrews. Andrews not prepared to commit to a potential starting date till after the November State Election. That will determine how much time he has to allocate to the job.

The bloke chose to stay as a board member of a church then stay as CEO of Essendon.

Reminded me of their last game in Melbourne (when they were both retiring) and we spoilt the party.
Tigers gave him a framed pic of his playing days and he showed it to Golden Boy's kids.
They saw him in the Richmond jumper and weren't too happy.
Classic.

He should just go home and mellow out with a glass of red.

I used to dislike Essendon with a passion but I find it hard not to pity them now.

I feel more for the rank and file supporters and staff at the club who will have been lifted up by what seemed like a great get as CEO, only to find the bloke was a zealot.

Not exactly something you are going to discover in a selection process, perfect storm of chaos.
 
What an absolute unmitigated disaster of a club. What, you wouldn’t do a full background check on someone being appointed into a position like that ? Staggering. But then again, maybe not considering it’s Essendon.

Between them and North it’s hard to know who’s worse.

I dont feel sorry for their "rank and file" supporters TBR. I will never forget the amount of sh!t I copped from these so called supporters (friends as well) when I was younger.

Um - a google search would probably do it. Having been involved in recruitment processes at small NGO’s there is no excuse that a large entity can not know… hey wait a minute!

I don't know, I've seen a lot of people employed with a lot of things examined about them, but never what church they go to and what the sermons given at that church said.

It didn't come up while he was CEO of NAB, I would have thought that process would be more stringent than a footy club.

The more amazing thing to me is that a man of his obvious intellect and capability would believe this crap and put it ahead of the real world.
