Elimination Final Game Day Thread v Lions

Other than being ripped off by holding frees, it was our youngsters who didn't really step up, other than MRJ and Ross.

Gibcus has a future but that was one of the worst backman displays I've seen in a long time.

Sonsie had a lot of the ball in the first half but very poor decision making. Just 2 disposals in the 2nd half.

Cumberland probably the worst game he's played since his induction.

Miller tried hard but not much of a game.

That's it 2022 season over. 5 losses by less than a goal and a draw.

When Brisbane went foward in the last 80 seconds, who honesty believed they weren't going to score?

I would love to see the angle the arc had for the overturn.
I am seriously staggered by that decision.
Unbelievable

Lynch should have gone back another 5 or more metres and run and opened the angle. Terrible from an experienced player

A very poor and dumb captains game from Nank tonight. I thought he was putrid. He had many friends though.

thought with mcinerney going down 5mins in 1st qtr Nank and Miller would dominate but they failed

Good post. This should in itself be grounds to really have a go at the AFL, and the constant meddling and arbitration by Dumpires, inept technology and discretionary based rules. The dumpires can do wtf they like. there is a swarm of them on the ground and they still can’t get it right. The technology, what the hell is going on there? They have cameras on every angle, you can see the viens on the players arm and legs, but they can’t detect the trajectory of the ball once it’s slightly above the goal posts. The dumpires call a goal, the Video proves inconclusive, and then the goal is overturned. In which other sport can this happen?

I agree. It may have been a point, it may have been a goal, but how many times do you see a shot on the tv and it looks like it is going to hit the post and then sails through for a goal. It was guesswork at best, no idea how they could claim it was conclusive.

Not good enough. Too flaky. Leaky.

Even if we won you don’t advance far conceding 100pts in an EF.

Seventh is about right.

The 5 in 30 have alot of improving to do.
Gibcus was very very poor all night.
Cumberland was delist material
Miller just looked like he shat the bed all night.
We need to rejuvenate

I think it’s a reflection of our season - only just good enough to make finals, soft wins to dorks and dumbers meant we drank our own bath water.

Our defence is not good enough to win finals - finals are won or lost on defence. The fact we couldn’t kill that last shot over the line shows where we are at.

All our young players showed something in a final is a plus - but they were never going to win it for us, Jack nearly did, Lynch should of in the end - I think his last two shots were behinds, Bolts played like he was about to become a father, Dusty never got going and Edwards had one good moment.

In the end, we should have won, but like most of the season, we lost the winnable game.

It is so frustrating, I have stopped walking and shouting around the house. The trouble is we haven’t learnt from all those close losses.

Brisbane are crap by the way.

Disagree with that. Yeah the young dudes didn’t have the game they could have, but so many of the senior players were poor.
They should have been the ones telling and showing the youngsters what they had to do.
