Elimination Final Game Day Thread v Lions

Other than Broad and Tarrant. Backline really poor.
Still wish we had Daniel on the forward line.

I was going to post this game reminds me of the North game. But I didn’t want to jinx us.

Numb just now. We had so many opportunities to go into another week. Forget the score review. Why even give them a reason to review it. *smile* kick. Baker at the F50 kicks it out on full. Then laughs after kick. Pop it up to goal square. 3 Defenders all together can’t kill ball from 5m out. No umpire fault there. Nank repeatedly tapping to opposition. How long does it take to learn during the game. No umpire fault there. Some shocking field kicking. No umpire fault there. We lost it from poor skills and decision making. Oh well next year. Hopefully we free up some cash through retirements and get some class in midfield.

We start our game from the backline because we’re so poor in clearance. Have to fix it.

Plus Hardwick didn’t try enough options on Neale. Plus we made too many mistakes - dropped marks, missed kicks, missed goals. Wasted season as this team is still good enough to win it.

He tried plenty of options, he just tried the wrong ones. Ultimately when you look back on it, they were only still in the game in the first quarter and a half because of Neale and he was just running off Short. Pickett did pretty well on him when he went to him, but it was too late.

Such a frustrating and disappointing season. One of the least enjoyable to watch and probably more so than the 80s and 90s.

This was just a season of thrown away games that we could have and should have won.

Culminating in this sh!tshow of a final.
It really does feel like an opportunity lost this year. We were as good as anyone but just never put it together for long enough. And those *smile* losses 6 weeks ago killed our season. The club had an air of “she’ll be right mate” about it this year.

Ahh well, wasn't meant to be.
Was this year our worst with free kick differential? Interested to see the stats.
Our opposition seem to have a significant handicap.

Anyways, we will have a better crack next year with Sonz, Ross, Gibcus, Cumberland having another pre season and Taranto in as well.

"You can see the ball has gone over the top of the goal post".....................Get ****** I couldn't see that !!!!

Thats cos Short is a soft bruise free campaigner.
