Talking to a mate of mine today about Grimesy & I was saying how good he was, his reply was that if he was playing for lolnorth of carltank he'd be no good because he wouldn't have the same support ::) ::)

Well said Browny on OTC!! Grimo should've been AA but he didn't coz his stats aren't 'sexy'.

How Stewart got selected in front of grimes has me Flked.
Grimes should've been one of the first selected.

Today Wallace was asked who you would take, laird or Grimes. Without hesitation he answered Grimes.
Grimes is on the verge of being one the best defenders we have had in the last 40 years.
He is unbelievable

Different types of players, both very good at the role they play.

Grimes almost the best one on one defender in the game.

Great call. If Stewart was a Richmond player, on selection night, the selectors would write down the names Rance, Grimes and Astbury on the team sheet. Then they wold debate Stewart, Broad and Garthwaite and go with Broad.

No arguments there re Optimus but I feel the need to differentiate.
Grimes is one of the best one on one defenders in the game but Sir Alex Rance is a generational defender that may possibly be in the top 3 greatest defenders of all time.
There's a fair difference

Watch the replay he was on him quite early in the first quarter.
