Definitely in the club's interest that he doesn't go anywhere else.I interpreted “Our preference will be that he stays at this football club and becomes a Tiger for life”, as we'd prefer him to retire this year than go somewhere else.

I have been to heap of them & I cant recall seeing him at too many if any TBHI understand Dusty wasnt at the Players Sponsors event last night. Can anyone confirm?
I heard the interview and was also taken by surprise by the long pause before answering.Interesting interview with B Gale this morning on SEN1116. Besides other things, he was asked about what space D Martin is in at the moment, motivation etc.
I’m paraphrasing here so somebody might have a more accurate interpretation, but there was a long silence to begin with before he said something like “I don’t know” and then went on to say he could only imagine it would be hard for him right now after all the previous success yadda yadda yadda.
Maybe I took it the wrong way, but wasn’t exactly the most positive of responses I didn’t think re the Dusty Dog’s state of mind.
Anyone else hear it ?
Rest him for Adelaide or Brisbane this week so that his 300th is at the G (it'll be v Dorks in a twilight game) but I reckon he won't finish at 300 as his final game will be worth more and might be against the Huns at the G in the final round and more appropriate as Dimma will be there to celebrate also.Minus 4 for No. 4
296
Which game does he miss?
Bris 297 at BrisVegas
Dreamtime 298
Geesook at Geesook - has played there before. Maybe miss this?
Adel at Area 51 299
Haw 300 and over and out?
Wow, just realised.
With all these interstate matches coming up might only get to see Triple Norm run around in the sash "Live" 2 more times.
The end is nigh for this amazing Champion.
The champ loves playing the Lions. Kicked 6 against them twice. Just imagine, for a second he gets six more this week. The legend would be huge.
Actually, scratch that, I'll be happy if we kick 6 as a team by three-quarter time this week.

Might also indicate Benny no longer GAF and hasn't spoken to him. He's just there to collect his paycheque for the rest of the year.
I felt the pause was telling. BG has always told it like it is and I'm sure he didn't want to put words in the wrong place given the media attention around Martin.Might also indicate Benny no longer GAF and hasn't spoken to him. He's just there to collect his paycheque for the rest of the year.
After all this time, you really think Benny operates like that BT?
The mans integrity and passion for the RFC shouldn't come into question.
If the club preferred he walked away now, there is no doubt he would.

It's because of his integrity that he didn't get the AFL CEO gig.Thats a very poor take. Benny has more integrity in his little finger than most in the AFL industry. He will do whats best for the RFC until the day he leaves for the final time. I have no doubt on that.
I didn't pick that your comment might have been "partly facetious" ie. intentionally humorous, so it helps me if I see a smiley face at the end! Benny said in a recent interview that he still has a lot to do at the RFC before he goes and one of those would be overseeing the "Brick by Brick" campaign to raise money for the new stand and facilities at Punt Road. He'll be earning his pay right to the end.It was partly facetious. But I do find it humerous that they would ask the outgoing CEO (who already has his next gig BTW) about the motivation levels of someone else.
