Yeah saw a headline, 'Dusty turns back the clock'. I don't think the clock went forward, or not much at least. This bloke is bloody good ………still
in the pre-match interview with Mark Howard, Jack made reference to Dusty and his 300th at the clubPersonally I think the 300th at one club is important to him.
Can't see him leave
Agree. Perhaps unarguably! The conversations to be had with Dustin (and presumably his manager) once the new coach is appointed are these in my view:
- do you want to remain a Richmond player for 2024? His answer may depend on who’s appointed coach, but I’d expect that to be Yes.
- Beyond 2024, how much longer do you want to & think you can play for? I’d think he’s got three years of quality football left (barring anymore serious injuries), but what does he think?
- What can Richmond offer you to extend your contract to the end of 2026? Presuming he wants to stay, surely this is sensibly negotiable.
- Assuming you want to stay until the end of 2026, would you like to be Club Captain? If he says Yes, I’d agree to it and we’ll worry about the media rubbish later - our current Captains are hardly in the media every week. He’s a natural leader looking on from the stands.
If he agreed to the captaincy, I’d have Liam Baker appointed Vice Captain for a logical transition into 2027.
Mature discussion ahead between club and perhaps now unarguably our greatest ever player.
Lol - KB was bloody goodAgree. Perhaps unarguably!
You would hope so and Dimma too!Cotch and Jack would have been in his ear saying you’re 300th next year, one club Tigers legend.
Your legacy at one club is forever.
Barrett’s logic was the story won’t go away until the end of the trade period. Can’t believe that the ‘media’ , Tom Browne & Barrett are still going on with this!
Its like they want this to happen.
AFL mouthpieces.
Barrett is a scrotum wrinkle.Barrett’s logic was the story won’t go away until the end of the trade period.
Do you think he will leave?
No.
But the story won’t go away.
It can be put to bed I guess ?Barrett’s logic was the story won’t go away until the end of the trade period.
Do you think he will leave?
No.
But the story won’t go away.
