Dustin Martin

He is probably worth 1m a year for 3 years. With the new bargaining agreement coming in the wages are going up. Reward him for his form but keep the contracts short to dangle a carrot. Credit where credit is due he has responded beautifully to Richardsons shorter contract .

Martin is worth 750-850 to stay in the open market over 1mil.

Martin will poll well in the Brownlow & has in plenty of awards this season and absolutely he had a very good season at Richmond.
However IMO that doesn't correlate with him being the second best player in the competition.
I can think of quite a few AFL footballers who are of equal worth or better.
He's a very good footballer but sometimes I think it's a classic case of us overrating one of our own.

Gee that is harsh. Not sure anyone is saying he is the second best player in the comp but he is our second best player. Worth $800k minimum and more on the open market.

But the wages are about to go through the roof. 1m will be the new 800 k. If we don't pay it I guarantee someone else will.
 
His manager is lobbing the new Zealand government to enter a team in the AFL.
So dusty could be the marquee player for the team

personally I would like dusty signed up for the next 4-5 years so we don't have to worry about his contarct situ every 2 years. hes only gonna get better and better!! lock him away now!

Latest rumour which l would consider.
Here are the basics of a four-club deal currently being considered: Martin to Adelaide for Tom Lynch and pick 13; pick 13 to Port Adelaide for Hamish Hartlett; Hartlett to Gold Coast; Dion Prestia to Richmond.
