How much is he on now? Remember we got him quite cheap considering. 6m over 5 years is a big jump.
 
I have no idea how Adelaide could offer that. His contract runs out the end of next year. And Adelaide have a slew of players coming out of contract next year. If Adelaide have the cap, let's go offer Jake Lever 800k for the next four years to get him back.

The fact that Dusty's father is in New Zealand and the club allows him to nip over and back pretty regularly will derail any plan he has to go Adelaide. The extra travel will make it much harder.

I think the contract is about 500-550 with incentives. I be pretty shocked if the AA selection and B&F weren't worth another 50-70k.

The cap will jump significantly with the new CBA. 1.2 million is the new 750.

Change the name "Dustin Martin" to "Patrick Dangerfield" and you have a very similar scenario that PD was in 12 months ago....
 
I doubt Dustin knows anyone in Adelaide.

Do they actually fly direct Adelaide NZ.

Its fantasy at this point

How much they offering? Double of zero isn't much.

The thing that would be in our favour is that dusty isn't outgoing and extroverted like danderfield so he'd have some reservations about moving and having to make new friends and fit into a new environment. Also Swannie is in Melb.

No you don't! So how is there a 'go home' factor for Dusty in Adelaide?
 
Let's speculate that the rumour is true - nothing else to talk about anyway.

So, he's a RFA at the end of next year. If he goes then and we don't match the offer we would get, what, a first round compo pick? He is coming off his best year by a mile and would be a Brownlow Medallist if Dangerfield's mum and dad used a condom.

He's at maximum value.

What would Adelaide offer?

Lever plus their first round pick? That's a gun up and coming young KPD and an extra first rounder to use on a young mid. I wouldn't be horrified at that.
 
Doubt they'd offer Lever, unless he was homesick and requested a trade. Probably something like what Geelong gave them, a first, a second, and a fringe player maybe like Cameron.
 
maybe put Swanny on as an assistant coach, there are vacancies, and he could continue to mentor Dusty, now Chocco has moved.
