Dustin Martin

Just moving along with Clangerfield's awesome physique he is, in the old, one stone heavier that the mighty Dustin Martin. Older too.

I think Danger has that initial explosive pace that Dusty lacks.
To me that's the biggest difference.

The most obvious difference one runs in direct lines

I'm a bit biased but I would prefer our guy over Dangerfield.

Imagine both in the same team..

but one other difference is, ones very humble yet has a bad reputation, the other one is incredibly arrogant and has a good repetition :p

And nice hair and no Tatts.

Dustin Martin and Clangerfield.

If they played face to face for an hour, changing possession, Martin would have 100 broken tackles and Dangerfield would miss few. Dangerfield is stronger. Much stronger. Face to face. (Dangerfield is, from my obs, possibly the strongest mid I've ever seen. He rips it.)

Martin is more agile. Step. Stall. New direction. Dusty wants angles and then he can just shake Clangerfield off. He can shake anybody off. Unless they're behind him.

That's the core of why Dangerfield is more an inside player. And Dusty is outside. For now. Clanger is 26 and our man is 25.

Dusty and Clangerfield are most comparable in their wayward kicking when clear. Clangerfield has been trained for ten years to bomb the sh!t out of the thing because Tex or Jerker or Tomahawk.

Marto has to think about it. You can't bomb to Statch. Or Griifenussion. And Jack is working wide. And here is where Dusty has some work to do.

Only fourteen(?) months apart but Dusty has to play modern football while Dangerfield can bomb like Nick Daffy.

As a Martin fan, a devoted fan, I think it's a bit harsh to throw him against Clangerfield.

In some ways Dusty has emulated Deledio's career over seven years. Every year he is in career best form.

But it's up to Martin to take the step to League best form. And next year he can work smarter.

Our lack of an attacking forward structure and insistence on playing a timid tall hurts Dusty. He loves to create, to move the ball long and quickly but you need attacking talls on the move to capitalise. Jack wide and too far up is no good. Franklin played his skin off the other night. No good to the Swans to have their best target too far from goal.

AFL site says equal fourth with Eddie Betts.

Personally just says to me that the AFLPA MVP is just another midfielders award because Rance is our best by a distance.

Not sure what you're reading. Site has Max Gawn equal fourth with Eddie. Rance 7th.

Yes midfielders dominate all awards: in MVP, first 3 and 5/10 overall but at least recognition of other roles with Betts, Kennedy (WC) , Lynch and Gawn.

However, to rate Rance at 7? Best backman in the AFL just doesn't cut it in awards. But look overall. Only RFC and Crows with 2 in the top 10 !!!

How did Sloane come 2nd? He isn't in the top 20 let alone too 5 in the comp.
I hate "tries" been branded as champions
I could name more valuable players, Hannebury, Parker, Cripps, Stevens, Gray, Ziebel, Viney,

We can all see it. We need a tall, Knighter. Everything changes.

We were keen on him but went with Jayden Post instead.
Can't remember who made that decision.

Back to Dusty. Thinking back to Chopstickgate and then his old man getting deported, followed by a bad start to the season, the way he knuckled down and turned it around is a true testament to the kid/man.

He's also well in control of himself. I don't think I've seen him lash out or be deliberately dirty on the field.
