The afl stepped in on the danger deal, they made Geelong to do a deal as a 'good will gesture '. Now I know this isn't for certain to happen in Dusty's case, but if no.1 draft pick comes into play it could become interesting.

Geelong weren't offering him massive $'s like North are with Dusty therefore Adelaide could (and would) have matched. I think between Danger and the AFL they helped broker the trade but Adelaide were still screwed over, but still would be a getting a way better deal than we would for pick 16 or 17.

Even if we could negotiate with North to get their number 1 pick, I think I'd take that if the money really is the objective.

Personally reckon he wants to stay (if its a pure money decision, what does he have to think about). He'll be trying to weigh up staying at Richmond and having a red hot crack at a premiership against $0.3-0.4m more cash per year. Easier said than done.

Listening to KB, Balmey and Dimma this morning he is G.O.N.E gone. All very flat and resigned to the fact that the turncoat Judas flog is off to Arden St.

Yeah but pick 1 or 2 regardless of the player is better than FA compo at pick 17 or so.

The alternative is North pick up Dusty and take Rayner or someone at pick 1 in the draft. We can't have that happening
If you could force them to trade then pick 1 and a player goes straight to GC for Lynch

Agree. All pointing to the fact he is gone. I also thought his demeanour was a bit more distant against Freo.

Is he a flog for leaving? I don't think so. Can't blame him for taking guaranteed $2 million extra even if it does not suit me. I hope he/North fails though. One thing is for sure, he/they will be under immense pressure to peform for the entire 7 years.

The offer from North is bigger than what we have tabled but what people keep forgetting about is we have set up avenues for Martin to keep on earning good coin post football. The long term output is that he will earn more money with us. This is the deal breaker and why he will stay.

someone on PRE said this the other day, but if he wins the Brownlow... you'd expect him to make a killing from memorabilia. but if he leaves Richmond, who's gonna buy it? Richmond fans won't because we'd be dirty he left. Norf fans won't because he didn't win it at their club. he'd lose a fair chunk of money I reckon.

Tiges win the flag this year and he can go wherever he wants :clap :clap :clap

if we win the flag, he will be 100% Goneski. he'd have won the flag and the Brownlow, so it'll only increase his motivation to take the money.

In the ear of the beholder.
I heard them all too and didn't strike me as being gone.
They all sounded like they were over talking about it.

But he said "It's not possible" ;D

Absolute rubbish.

I agree mate. I believe he is staying. He loves his teammates and has no reason to go backwards at North. Old mate Ralph is just trying to squeeze every last dollar he can for his client. It's what Ralph is paid to do.

Did not take that away from the discussion, especially from Balmey he was playing a flat bat as usual. What you can take away is that Richmond have put forward it's final offer and it is all up to Dusty. The thing we have on our side is Dusty appears to love Richmond and his team mates and does not WANT to leave but is love enough?

Yep, all the players walked up to the fence where the members were sitting except Dusty who gave a wave from 30m out.

Can't see paying up big and long is smart. Salary cap splurge has been funded by silly TV sports rights payments. Ch10 broke, Ch7 struggling, Foxtel suffering. That money tree has stopped.

Quite frankly that last sentence is pure dribble.

So he becomes a tiger premiership player, Brownlow medalist and club legend all in the one year and walks out.

Not sure of any logic i can think of that will convince me this is has one speck of merit.

So for $2.8 million over seven years ($1.4 in hand, $200K a year) he gives up Brownlow medal and Premiership financial benefits which will be mega dollars over many years, plus a lucrative life after football.

He must be completely stupid, a place in Tiger history for the term of his life with more dollars and love than a bull can poo and he will pass that up for a handful of sheckles and a place at the bottom of the table playing in front of his Dad, six eighty year olds with no teeth and 10 security guys in the wilds of Tasmania.

He better buy some warm clothing as its bloody cold down there

If each member chips in $35 that keeps Dusty at Richmond (70K x $35 - $2.5 MILL)

problem solved. Where do we add the Dusty Stays to Richmond donation to our 201 8memberships.

Richmond ain't a protected interstate team.
