Geez hard crowd in here. Dusty doesn't rip the game apart and he's had a *smile* game. I thought he was still 1 of our best, but did the team thing. Needed to go forward after Caddy gor injured, and that was seen in his metres gained (well down) but still had a team high score involvements (9). We only had 9 centre clearances and he had 4 of them. Also had a team high 13 contested possessions.

Apparantly he had a bad game though.

True. Can't be best on each week, just like not everyone in the 22 can be as good as Dusty.

Was one incident in the 3rd where Dusty was leading to the pocket and Stewart filled the hole, I reckon Dusty pulled up a tad as too not crunch him, just thought at the time the Brownlow may just be in the back of his mind.

Doubt it would be the Brownlow as such. Old days the Cats player would have been dead meat, play on. Modern touchy feely duty of care n Dusty would be looking at a minimum of four if he'd nailed it. Probably three weeks this year n the first week next year.

Quite simply Dustin was beaten by his opponent on the day.
Thought Guthrie was tremendous.

My Great Grandfather could have got as many opportunities as Guthrie did today and probably the three Brownlow votes as well, if he'd had three umpires assisting him. This guy was being umpire under a completely different set of rules, than every tiger on the ground. Played well with a great deal of assistance from the third team on the ground.

Can moan all we like about the umpiring and def some validation. However Guthrie played well. Ran off Dusty numerous times and kept him on a pretty tight leash.

I have thought for a few weeks Dusty is carrying something. Maybe his groin still but he is definitely being managed. Time on ball a lot less than a few weeks ago. Not covering the ground.

I think he's carrying a Brownlow Medal in his pocket. Trying not to drop it by accident in the last couple of games for the season.
