Thank goodness, I would hate to change the name of my dog.

It's dumb enough as it is without the added confusion of a name change.
:hihi

Interesting that other players are starting to re-sign. I would not expect this too happen if we didn't have Dusty signed sealed and delivered. I'd say it's all over and the club is waiting for the optimum time to announce it.

this is the biggest clue he has signed.

Will be a Maguire " exclusive " this week/next week.... we can announce on the footy show that Dusty .................................

Have a listen to Ziebell on SEN this morning.

'We are lucky to be in a position to be able to attract a player like Dusty to our club.....well hopefully'.

Made me nervous.

Be careful what you wish for Ziebell. As Martin is a Restricted Free Agent, Norf will have to do a trade with us to land him.

Am i missing something? How are they in position to attract someome like Dusty?

Dust storm seems to have settled but post Monday's frenzy and imminent announcement we are none the wise. This then flues hopeful clubs that whilst there is no signature there is hope of a last ditch offer to pry him out of punt road. Carr probably gave more away over the last 5 days than over the last 5 months that Dusty was ready to make a call. The noise was also Dusty wanted all the speculation to stop.

If a call has been made then bloody announce. No marketing spin (if that's what RFC are trying to do, boost before finals) will make as happier than a call he is a tiger for life!

Looking forward to resuming normal sleep time once it's all done . Won't believe it till Benny says it's done. Some would have you believe we are waying up matching Norths offer

Have no doubt TP if he signed they'd announce, would help with both sponsors and late memberships.

Hypothetically if we are at $1.2 and North at $1.4.... you loose ~50% to tax, would you seriously uproot your friends, potential success around the corner (we hope), coach and club that loves you? Not to mention the "Visy ambassador" type earnings that will also come his way. Playing at the home of football v the rock hard Ettihad stadium and Hobart??!!

Good signs over the last week, but until its formally done I take with a grain of salt articles that start with

- " We believe.........."
- "Its understood....."
- "insiders advise....."
- "On good authority.."

We need a press conference!

The only thing i'm nervous about with this is that we will commit to much money over a long time, 1.2-1.3 x 7 years as the word is which will hinder us getting another a grade player in.

Remember Alistair Lynch - 10 year, $1m deal. Towards the end of the deal he was getting peanuts compared to other players.

We are banking the Farm on Dusty.
Smalls are cheap now. Smalls won't be cheap if we win the flag.
Interesting times.

I'm a very loyal person TP so for me it would be an easy choice , I'd rate winning a flag as priceless , but I'm not Dusty and have never been in his position, in saying that JJ Richards did try to poach me

Considering many high profile players who have put contracts off and then walked, I totally understand why many are nervous Ian

Is Martin going to be willing to take a pay cut as we attempt our four-peat to keep the team together?
