I would imagine Geelong will definitely challenge.

Not sure how they can.

Careless - hard to argue that it was not careless

Medium impact - hard to argue low impact when he was concussed (lucky not to get high IMO)

They're seeking legal advice. I can understand why. Been a few other similar cases to this one where the tackling player has got off this year. Seems very inconsistent. Not sure what he could have done differently other than just not tackle.

Two things come to my mind. First, he could have not pinned his arms (Kreuzer had no way of protecting himself upon falling). Second he could have rotated him in the tackle as it was the forward / drilling motion that caused the injury. I think the first is probably more able to be expected than the second.

I can't see how you can tackle someone without pinning both arms in certain situations. When you wrap your arms around someone to tackle it depends on where their arms are at the time. So imo you'd have to just not tackle to prevent that. He could have probably rotated him more but then you got too far and you're done for a sling tackle. Guy's head is still open to being hit. There's just situations where this is going to happen. I feel for the players. And to miss out on a potential Brownlow over such an incident, remembering that as I understand he hasn't ever been suspended before in 10 years of playing AFL. Great for Dusty's chances but going to be a hollow Brownlow if Dangerfield ends up with the most votes.

Its more than protecting Danger, its the Swans on Friday night and a top 4 contender the week after. Huge call coming from cat land.

Very interesting! No appeal probably says more than an appeal - that they have doubts about beating us without Dangerfield and are putting a better chance at the four points above a Brownlow.

Players are trained to pin the arms to help their chances of illegal disposal. It's great tackling technique from a competitive perspective but can definitely be dangerous. High risk approach which didn't come off this time

Granted you might pin the arms, but slamming them face first into the ground isn't unavoidable. He will get off though, it's almost assured.

They already have doubts with the way the reacted to suggestions of moving The game to the MCG. No way they wanted to lose the advantage they have at SS.

Going to be a hard test for Dusty the next few weeks , needs to keep playing the way he normally does an not get sucked in. Won't be shocked if Cats appeal.

Hope they do and fail. get 2 weeks or more.
Tiges can move up to 2nd if things go our way, geel slip to 4th.
RFC has had so much bad luck over the years about time the ledger swung back is my view :).

Firmly believe Dusty will win the brownlow irregardless of any sanction on Dangerfield.

Much more excited with the prospect of him winning this years Norm Smith (and premiership medallion)
