Thanks BT

Tim Watson seems pretty certain Dusty is heading to Sydney.

Ha, Jabber Watson Snr trying to stay relevant!!

At the start of the year he was saying "My mail is he will be leaving the Tigers".

Then a few weeks ago he said "I'm pretty certain now that Dusty is happy and will be staying at the Tigers".

Now he's changed his tune again!

Make up your mind Jabba!!!

JR SEN is struggling so it goes to the Tiger fans to irate us , call talkback radio, have this discussions and keep SEN a little relevant with ratings.

just now what Luffy& King were talking about was Dusty and his numbers. No 1 for 1 v 1 contests at a staggering 67%. The AFL average was mid 20%, so Dusty 7/10 wins his one on one contests. He often is that kick down the line option down back, often midfield and being isolated in the F50 numbers are through the roof.

Kingy with his love of the Tigers and Luffy mentioned that Dusty will have to sacrifice $ to stay at the Tigers , be a 1 club player and be part of something with the Tigers.

I heard the Swans thing a few months ago from a friend of mine in Sydney who is tied up with the swans business coterie. The fact is that the swans need franchise players to stay relevant in that market. They needed Lockett, Barry Hall, Buddy and they think they need Dusty.

I have no idea if he will go to the swans but I do trust this guy having good information and I am pretty sure they are at least considering it. It doesn't mean he will go, he could easily say no. I also have no idea on the money and the length of the contract, all I have been told and all my friend knows is that it has been discussed and he expects that an offer will be made or has been made. He told me that around May.

We can only speculate. Everything I see on the field and off the field from Dusty suggests nothing other than he wants to stay at tigerland but in the end he hasn't signed.

Niall just said on AFL Tonight that the Swans have categorically denied that they're after Dusty. Can't fit it into their cap.

They will match any offer.

Problem is, no-one can make an offer until the trade window opens, all they can do is talk to his manager as to what they want to offer.

This is the crux of the issue. Carr is hoping for a Godfather offer so he can go to Richmond and say, match this. That won't happen until the end of the season.

It is just going to be weeks of speculation unless Richmond can somehow convince Dusty to stop going through the charade and take a reasonable offer. Unlikely.

Unless they off load players of course. Anyway who knows, Swans do have form in being untruthful/evasive

It is causing problems though as we have a truckload of unsigned players. Leppa alluded to it in his interview today.

If the Swans were in the hunt for Martin we wouldn't be hearing anything.

Buddy was going to GWS or so the media "experts" were telling us.

pretty funny video of Griggs son, he'd be 2 ?, who covered himself in texta tatts because he 'likes Dusty'.

Martin apparently left training early today.

May have had a phone call from Sydney. ;D

Exactly right, old man Watson is on the juice

Sydney have always had a huge interest. From memory TigerBob used to work with Kinnear Beatson, who wanted Dusty hardcore.

They tried to get our pick in that draft to get him (via trade) and notoriously tried to say he was a NSW zone player because of his Dad.

I'd not underestimate their desire to get him and pay big. Tippett out perhaps?

I don't know if Tippett out gives them that much room. He's contracted for next year. Anyone picking him up would want them to cover some of that. No COLA anymore, Buddy on a huge contract, the likes of Heeney don't do it for the love. That cap is very tight.

That'd be RFC wouldn't it? Let a generational player like Dusty walk for $200-300K because they didn't want to lose a pedestrian player like Shank ::)

Reminds me of the Frawley years where we were extremely keen on Kane Johnson. At the end of 2001 a deal was on the table for Ben Holland but we baulked. We ended up having to trade the no. 2 draft pick to Adelaide a year later for Johnson and Holland went to Melbourne a year after that anyway ::)

Very hard to trust this club to make the right call when they overrate average footballers.

Thanks for all the insights anyway Bris.
good post.

I'm nervous as. Richardson worries me.

Happy with Leppa's comments today as they back what's there to be seen. Emotionally Dusty is still heavily invested in the club and team. Leppa said he knows the signs when a player is destined to leave as emotionally they distance themselves and are no longer involved.

He sees the opposite in Martin

I would have to say that i am particularly disappointed if a senior person at the Richmond football club is passing such commentary out to those who dont really need to know at this point. No doubt there are delicate negotiations going on behind closed doors, no doubt we wish to keep Martin.

To do so means irrespective of what we think about anyone playing a part with this we play a straight bat. That includes expressing personal opinions on Martins manager and father.

Pretty poor when you think about it.

Love to know your source so i could kick them from one end of punt road to the other.

Apologises for negativity but we need to be more professional than this stuff indicates we are.

My source is a colleague of mine (of sorts) who i see once a year. He probably told me in trust. Im the loose lips that probably shouldn't have broadcast the discussion. I just wanted to bring some info from the club to assist in understanding the position rather than relying on constant innuendo.

I also dont think what i was told was anything earth shattering. We all know Carr is a wanker and Shane has a lot of influence over Dusty and may be influenced my money.

True Baloo
Heard the interview but it also depends on what motivates the player he said , eg $$$.

Hope he is right though

Not what i was told. If a club came with a Buddy deal, we would consider walking away. That from someone that will have a say (one of a number admittedly) on the decision.
