Dustin Martin

I honestly dont think Dusty is worried about his contract - or his footy would be affected. He's said in the past his manager is a "gun". Ralph would talk him into anything (in terms of promises) that aren't even on the table.

Considering his close relationship with his father, the club has missed a huge opportunity in trying to help in that aspect. You can bet Sydney and any other suitors have made promises to help his Dad.

We are not a club that seems to have looked at that angle.

What can we do you may ask? At least promise we would look at his fathers case, and take it from there. I bet we haven't.

Smarter clubs will.

You're assuming we haven't.

Last year and this year we've given Martin time off to fly to NZ. I'd say we're doing the right thing on the surface.

this gets my second guessingest post of the week award, and its a strong field

and take it from there? Take it where? Mabo and the constitution?

What was Fyfe's offer? $1.2m per yr?

Dusty is on the rise, fyfe thought still very very good has stalled due to injuries. Have to think Dusty's team would want fyfe money or more.

Fact is, if he left, he would have to got interstate, cause I pretty sure he cope a fair bit if tish if he stayed in melbourne!

Somehow I can't see that worrying Dusty. He seems pretty grounded.

Not sure about misses. the call to deport is purely a Federal government call. Any political melding starts to get a bit messy. Dutton's call to deport him and whilst the current govemnt remains there is no chance his dad steps foot in Australia. As others have said Richmond has been massive to accommodate his needs to spend as much time as possible in NZ to see his dad. I cant think what more the RFC could do to assist Dusty here.

As for the love of the club v $$$ I just hope he finds the right balance. He has some incredible relationships particularly with Cotchin. People scoffed at Caddy leaving Geelong but as soon as Presita landed it didn't take too much to lure him to Punt Road. There seems to be a powerful bromance happening between him and Cotch at the moment, that has to amount to some influence in staying a Tiger.

He has the chance to become a legend and an immortal on current form. He may me the single factor that ends our flag drought

Only the second? Wow, which one was the first, as it will have to be pretty good to beat that one.

Bit of a reach, as others have said given Dusty plenty of leave to visit his old man in NZ, what are Sydney going do, pay 60 minutes and a recovery crew a million bucks to smuggle his dad back into the country.

What baloney. His father's case is between him and the government. Even AFL Eddie couldn't pull that one off.

Absolutely...there is nothing any club can do to fix his old mans situation

How's bloody James hird basically pleading with AFL to get dusty to Gold Coast because they need the help in his latest herald sun article

Go and get *smile* James hird and the AFL

Go and get *smile*ed James hird and the AFL

In the article James Hird wrote, or put his name to, there is this quote:

"My Martin plan runs counter to my core football philosophy — that investing in youth and growing organically is the way to build a footy club."

I think it is meant to read:

"My Martin plan runs counter to my core football philosophy — that investing in sports science and growing based on pharmacology is the way to build a footy club"

POS. Has this article got anything to do with old man Watson's SEN headlines this week I wonder?

And says the afl should pay half the contract, citing KHunt and Folau with their "ambassadorship" contract payments.
There would be hell to pay if that eventuated.

Hird is a Tird! His Richmond hating mate Lloyd is also

Honestly how did this bloke get a gig writing for the Hun, oh that's right it's all about bringing him back into the AFL family.

This bloke brought his beloved Essendon to its knees.

I hope a reporter asks Dimma a question tomorrow about the this article, considering they are mates.
