ricky nixon school of management?

Ricky Nixon may be an ordinary unit but he always acted in the best interest of his clients and not just chase the absolute top dollar. If Nixon was Dustys manager then he would have re-signed with the Tigers months ago.

It is bloody simple. Benny Peggy and List Manager should call in Dusty and Carr for a meeting today and explain to them that it is critical for their list planning that they have commitment within 2 Weeks. If in 2 weeks time that they don't accept the deal on offer then it's assumed he is going elsewhere. Offer retracted move on and try replace him. No more being held hostage by a bloke who's life we effectively saved from the gutter

Maybe if they dump KT.

I meant do the Cats have the Swans salary cap. No wonder they off loaded Caddy to us. Surely they can't have Dangerfield, Selwood & potentially Ablett & Martin in the one midfield. Can just see the Swans being a player in this though, Martin's dads business is up there & he might like the less scrutiny up there

After his performance on Saturday night I would not be increasing any offer. For what he is asking I would expect him to be a match winner and be able to handle pressure. He is neither really. Look at Dangerfield, when they are behind he plays harder and gets the team up. Martin doesn't seem to have that ability. Most players on that sort of coin are match winners.

I would be telling him to sign now or see you later - then we make a huge play for Kelly to replace him.

Martin has been huge for us this year so I think he can be excused for a rough night. But Saturday night showed us we have to many deficiencies to be bent over by 1 player.

Rumour file caller said off to Cats for 1.6mill. Honestly am over it just get him to make a decision either way. Holding the club to ransom

Interesting about the cats, their cap was bursting last year
Isn't this why the Lids deal didn't go ahead and why Caddy was moved on.

I think we can safely say every club is in the mix now, in regards to any rumoured move.

I know he has been great most of the year but when things go south, you expect a player getting paid that kind of money to stand up. Martin didn't even give a whimper in that game. No way Dangerfield would lay down and accept that. I expect Martin to do the same and prove he is worth what he wants - that's all.

Balmy said on sen on friday that Dusty was happy at RFC and didnt think it was a issue he was taking so long to sign it was in reference to Damian no brains on the footy show

So you haven't noticed Dusty lifting his game in the 2nd half in order to get the team over the line in numerous games this year?? Like, just recently, in the wins over the Bloos or Port for just 2 examples? Not sure what you've been watching then.

Saints targeted him and got into him like all our top players. For once it worked. He had a terrible game, so did the whole team. It happens. Good preparation for the rest of the season. Team needs to know how to respond and fire back.

Some ability to kick regular set-shots would make a huge difference!

Stop making sense! I wanted to winge! I k ow he is a very good player and he has lifted this year and is one of our most important players but at times I am left underwhelmed. Maybe it is just the frustration of THAT game

I think the tension of not knowing what he's doing with his future is not helping the club or anyone. Don't trust dirty, stinking Colonwood myself along with his weasel manager.

Yep. Not helping the club in its planning that's for sure. He'll get a bloody good offer from us regardless so it's a selfish act. If he stays he could've dragged this out for nothing and it screws us up preparing for the off season. Starting to think he's gone.

If he goes just rebuild the club properly for *smile* sakes. Sick of half arsed rebuilds with dud coaches to boot.

If he was gone, or the club thought he'd be going, the narrative would be different. These guys are at the club all week long. If Dusty had decided to leave the players, staff etc would have picked up on the change of attitude and the noises from Punt Road would be different.

Dusty's contract status isn't the reason we lost on Saturday. Saints had the rub of the green, we couldn't do a thing right.

Disagree. I thought he worked hard to lift in the 2nd half. Still had equal most tackles, equal most clearances, 11 contested. His kicking was way off on the weekend but he's had a magnificent year so far. Every single player no matter who they are, is going to have an off game or two. Even Dangerfield had a similarly 'relatively' poorer game against Collingwood this year.

Precisely , cats have always been pretty disciplined with that , danger is on about same as selwood 800k no way on earth they'd pay Martin double , and they intend to get gazza too

Stick to your guns Tigers. Every player has a dollar value. If he leaves purely because of money well that's not a team player because it will effect all of his current team mates salaries too.
