did you fall for the re-hash of the article from 2 years ago? (I nearly did last night.....)

CBA apparently being finalised possibly next week.

About *smile* time. Shouldn't have gone this long into the season in the first place.

Hopefully shortly after the CBA is announced, Dusty signs on the dotted line.

I hope Dusty signs in the bye before the finals.

he clearly loves richmond. He'll lead us to a pair of flags and be compared to KB, Royce, Francis and Jack.

Was seen coming off the ground pointing to his back??

Reported on Ch 7.

Anyone at training today ? How did he look in the drills?

your back would hurt if you hand 21 blokes sitting on it for the last 11 rounds

Good stuff Zips.

There will be plenty of Swans hanging off you Saturday and plenty trying to ruffle his tatts.

There will be some fierce don't argues on show.

Looks like Carr is going to take this to the wire , Benny Gale looked very comfortable with where our offer was at and not sure richmond will keep increasing its offer until we know a number from the Dusty camp.

It would be a bit like going to an Auction and bidding against yourself

I have a friend who is adamant the swans are the real players in this and are trying to do a buddy on Martin. They need marquees to survive and he is the one they want.

Tied to our desire to get Reid according to him. Free agent compensation plus a steak knives deal for Reid has been tabled.

My response is that it's all on the assumption he leaves which I doubt.

If it was the case, and he had to go, could you match the offer then trade

and Heeney and Reid thanks?

I reckon Dusty stays, but if he goes, The AFL wont compensate us properly. Once a lifetime player at height of powers who is almost priceless.

That's why we must match the offer and make them trade for him.

Its the only way we get proper compensation if he was to leave.

Agree.

You don't lose talent like Dusty via the AFL compo formula. As it stands right now we would get pick 15 for him as band 1. Pick 15!!

If we finished bottom 4 and he wanted to go I'd say that sucks but at least we get pick 3 or 4. Hawks could afford to lose Buddy and get pick 19 because they had about 10 A grade players. We have 4.

I'd be matching any crazy offer and going from there.

Agree 100%. I don't think he will leave but if he wants to RFC must play hard ball. We must match any offer and force a trade that provides excellent compensation if that happens.

Hopefully it doesnt come to it, but it would interesting how our compo was judges if we lost Dusty to a 5yr $1.5 deal and signed say Reid to a 3yr $700 deal.
surely we would still get a 1st rd pick with that difference in contract $$ and length.

I cant see us being forced to trade. surely he will only leave for $$$, so if match any offer he would have no reason to leave.
