Dreamtime 2020 Game Day

Your opinion is your own business but the assertion I go around trying to find way to slap Richmond players is complete and utter unsubstantiated nonsense.

You really should go back and read some of your posts then

No, you should go back and read them.

What so called slaps have I handed out? Jack Riewoldt is a good player but I'm not a fan of him as a bloke? That I think Lynch is a good player and by all reports a nice young bloke but is embarrassing himself with the way he is acting outside of the footy on the field? That opposition players aren't fans of the way he acts on field? That I hope he gets good advice and turns it around so he doesn't damage his standing in the game? That Vlastuin might have taunted an opposition player about milking a 50 and IF he did then that was a stupid thing to do?

That's some real machine gun fire compared to the average level of criticism Richmond players get on here.

Very good point. On this forum we kick the shyte out of our own players who stuff up on football execution, but if we criticise on-field or off-field behaviour we suddenly become traitors to the cause?

For the record, IMO Vlastiun put mayo on that 50, good on him. Dylan totally staged that push in the back, good on him, saved a goal and we scored at the other end. Dangerfield is regularly mocked by fans of other clubs for staging, good for them. And yes, Tom Lynch has been acting like a *smile* onfield recently, last night he was much better.

Go tiges.

Definitely late, not so definitely high. Still technically a 50 as it was late, but a soofffft 50.
[/QUOTE]

Whatever it was , it wasnt a big deal. Only our players can be scorned for coping a late hit while taking a courageous mark going blindly with the flight of the ball.

Anyway, I just love how *smile* Essendon is. They are putrid we destroyed them last night and it was only our extremely wasteful and haphazard forward line play they kept the game close. 66-24 inside 50s. Geez that is a rogering. Lee will probably know but I can’t recall a bigger inside 50 differential.

The Bombers really are crap and their supporters are delusional. They are still living on glory days from 1983 - 2001. Haven’t won a flag for 20 years. Haven’t won a final for 16 years.

They’re irrelevant and long may it continue.

Too right, what are the media suggesting? Either he not go for the ball or not flinch when hit?

How about we get the nice Mr Bell-Chambers to whack the reporters in the neck while running at pace and see if they like it.

Compare the talk on Vlastuins mark compared to Tippingwutis when Grimes was coming the other way.

Ones amazing, the others a cheat. They were both brave, they were both collected when they weren't expecting it.

Bank the 4 points, lost no %, and no injuries.
Essendon don't kick 10-1 ever again.
Rioli finally got a kick, Balta's enormous, and only going to get better, Baker & Short killing it off half back, Jack R getting his mojo back, plenty to like going forward.
And Castagna was more involved, 12 disposals, used his pace and got more of it in close, with a few mistakes but it was a greasy ball.

To me Im glad this vision is so close.

3 things wrong! What i want to see. Lynch no case. Hurley is big trouble imo

1. Hurley intentional strike, low impact to hand and has his back to the play. - 1 week suspension or fine
2. Lynch puts forearm to his chest. Holds, then fends off. Hurley stages for a free by pretending hit his neck. - $500 fine for staging
3. Darcy as a commentator. Only thing he wants to note is Lynch fending off as Lynch is the villian. FFS.

Yes, interesting the vitriol coming from the Fox commentators. Could be to get more viewer interaction knowing that we have 100,000 members and oppo supporters want our scalp. The fact that Foxtel have been reported as in trouble with a significant drop in subscriptions may be the stimulus for targeting Richmond. That staging by Danger was 1 min before half time in last year's PF. Watched it this morning and such a blatant lurch forward but the umpires and commentators ignored it because he's a protected species.

We had zero frees at quarter time. I still don't understand how in this highly interpreted umpiring game any team can go a quarter without a single free.
That's nothing, ask Hawthorn how it feels to go a complete second half without a free!

foxsports.com.au has been prominent with piece-of-sh!t clickbait articles about our club. Looks like it'll be up to Classified again to restore sanity.

Our efficiency inside fwd 50 is the glaring issue but mainly against these run of the mill sides where they just pile numbers back. We are certainly getting it in there enough. Let’s see what it looks like agains the cats and eagles who you would think will back their defenders in.

They expect if two big bodies collide one or both just carry on with not a hair dislodged.

Yeah, but, we didn't get it inside 50 enough against Port. If we improve on that next week I reckon we are very competitive.

We got smashed in clearances and couldn't get our transition game going, we also couldn't stick a tackle. Something was a bit off - no Cotch/no Jack G as hard nuts in the centre for a start - but we just weren't really set for that game. Our forward efficiency was off the charts though, Port didn't flood.

The Port game was the polar opposite to the GC and Essendrug games. Against Port we were dominated in the inside 50 count but were extremely efficient when we got there. If we had have been that efficient in the other 2 games we would have had 20 goal wins in both.

Funny thing about the Port game, it was an absolute cracker, very high standard. We got smacked in the middle but they clearly have been working on that and we are missing vital players in the middle. Even so, it was such a fast game it was great to watch - looked like 2 heavyweight fighters going at it.

If we fix the centre clearances (not necessarily win them but at least pressure any the opposition get) and tackle better, and then play with the intensity we did that night - then, watch out.

Was a bombers home game. The crowd was definitely pro-bombers.
Call it the Kevin Sheedy factor. We might have had the inside running for attracting players to our club for a while with Maurice and co. That all changed when Sheedy defected to the bummers (maybe we appointed the wrong Tiger great as coach?) and proceeded to steal interest and allegiance to the other sash. Then the Dawks tried to pinch it from them, and did so in all probability with Cyril.
Now several/most clubs are in the mix.

For all that, we've produced twice as many Aboriginal premiership players under Hardwick as Sheedy did in four flags at Essendon.

I think the staging is born out of frustration. We don’t get free kicks full stop and watch other teams get them for nothing week in week out. So need to make any infringement obvious because we sure as hell aren’t gonna get one in normal circumstances.
Excellent post. Also think about how the Bummers brought both Stringer and BellCho back for this game. A few posters noted the shape they were in! Both had about 3 disposals; actually S = 3 kicks; B = 3 HBs.
What else were they supposed to do when they were clearly incapable of getting the ball? Possibly lots of blocking and body-work around the stoppages and up forward? B = - minus 30 m gained; S = 85m ; being clearly the Bummers worst two players comfortably.
