I think we focus on building our own champions, rather than worry about pinching one 2 years down the track.
Yep.

Yep, always thought Bolton should move back Sin.

Or maybe we are now drinking our own bath water.

Geez talk about a misery guts. You do realise we just won the flag after many many years of incompetence se7en. We're actually permitted to have a sip or two of the bath water leading up to the 2018 pre season stuff.

There's actually 17 other clubs out there that get to pick potential players each draft, sometimes we get what we want n sometimes we have to make do with whatever's best available n try to make it fit.

We've drafted ruck support, KPP support n mid/forward support, what more was the club supposed to do?

This draft was a sleeper super draft. It's still underappreciated just how many good players it produced.

Super Draft.
I reckon the top 10 (top 14 even) is average- but the quality of depth is fantastic.

There are some ordinary players near the top but if you re-ranked them it would look pretty strong.
Definitely.
A few players picked too high- but then heaps taken late teens through the 20s and later who clubs would have been happy paying a lot more for.
Rayner is an interesting one. On current output he isnt top 10. But a few other "chunky" mid/forwards really made a leap around the age he is now- particularly as midfielders. But he isnt showing any signs at this stage.

I reckon he is.
Fair enough. "Any" might have been a bit harsh.
But i reckon as a pick 1 a guy like him needs to be able to transition into a bona fide mid. And he hasnt yet. And he is nearly 25. I would worry if i were a Lion fan that time is running out.

He might never be a bona fide mid but still a very good medium forward with high impact stints in the middle.

North have done well with talls at late picks, Xerri and Larkey.
The difference is North picked up a bloke that loves DimSims but we just drafted DimSims in 2017.
We have had 7 yrs of average drafting.
I can't name 1 kid from the national draft that's AA quality.
Balta is ok.

Tiger legend my arse ! Most negative pathetic poster , Kane Cornes in disguise!!

Has there every been a bigger tumble then Us?
I don't know
I can't believe 3 yrs ago we were unstoppable but a lack of planning for the future and development of kids had left us in no man's land.
It's not like we gave away draft picks.
We had 4 picks under 30 in our premiership year. 5 in 30 in 2021.
We had top 20 picks in the other years.
We just continue blaming the kids, we just have really poor development
