No Captaincy yet. If next year he can perform like the latter half of this year without needing an intervention, then he's ready for it.
Lids' laziness this year is a sign that giving him the Captaincy instead of Newman would have been a big mistake.
He'll lead us one day, but lets make sure he's ready for it.

Wouldn't pay him more then $300,000 per season. Lazy soft player, anything he has done was win the rising star and it has been all down hill since.
2 first round picks would do that trick. Let him be lazy another club :wave

It's a hard one.Was threatened recently with being dropped & still has a few areas to improve on.Yet he could just about have a 2nd b & f & is still only 21.Would just about be our best player & should be paid accordingly.If we are offering something decent but talks have broke down,it could be used as an excuse to leave citing money issues.

Strange comments fom you.
He has definitely lifted in terms of his perceived weaknesses.
His tackle count has sky rocketed.
Is that due to him mentally getting better, or is it due to Wallace being gone and he being given the right role?
Brett at this point in time right now is our best player. We need to hang onto him.

Time for players to put up and shut up
. Sick and tired all these years of players being paid big dollars on potential or 1 good year of football. Time for blokes to put their hand up and want the RFC jumper, and not the dollars. If Lids wants a huge pay check to inflate his ego than he can nick off. Would rather get 2 1st round draft picks for Lids and begin another rebuild with blokes that truly want it. Hopefully Deledio does the right thing and shows the same faith the RFC has shown him all these years.

Might be done quicker than people think.
I think about 550K a year would be reasonable, happy to go to 600 to keep him against market. Anything below or above that is pushing it from either party IMO.
Not concerned as I hadn't expected him to sign yet, my gut feel is he wants to stay and I don't see any real barriers to that as the club wants to keep him. I don't think the money is as big a issue to Lids as it is to some players, he'll get well looked after and I think his career form is more important to him, now he can have a chat to the new coach I'd expect a quick signature in the next fortnight.
