Emma was critiquing his game as well. No really defence work. lack of pressure acts.
Talent is talent pure n simple Baloo, it's completely different from work ethic n commitment. The reason clubs have coaches n build team culture is to teach incoming youngsters the necessary game plans n about work ethic n commitment to grow n improve.
According to some reports missing out last year has made Dayle make some adjustments to his lifestyle, team ethics n commitment. Obviously he still needs more work so that's what elite sporting environments are about.
No idea if Dayle will get picked up this year or not, seems a bloody shame if not one club backs themselves to grow the talent n grow the person.
Just a thought while typing, as Esserdope n Crowbaits both miss out on early round selections it might be no surprise if one of them grabs the raw talent with one of their picks, they might be desperate enough seeing as there won't be much obvious quality available after the first two rounds.

Maybe Essendrugs have developed a new peptide to curb bad behaviour?

....

if no club will touch him it would be a fair indication there is more baggage than we are aware of. i hope he's given a go but i wouldn't have a clue what the off-field issues are.

that it what many said last year.

;D

True.

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
Can't recall too many cases over the years where kids were entirely overlooked one draft and then picked with a high selection the next.
Raw talent with off field issues and a poor defensive game does not overly appeal but then I will leave this one to the pros to make the call.

Jayden Post was one I think.

Want to know more about this kid. Just had a look at his senior stats for this year. (Also played 2 games in the ressies).

APG

Seniors
15.8 disposals
5.8 marks
2.5 goals
1.6 tackles

High kick to handball ratio.

Now obviously stats aren't everything as we don't know the circumstances surrounding those raw numbers.
However on the face of it those are pretty impressive offensive numbers for a young kid for sure.
Certainly took it up a notch this season after his wake up call.

Can see some clubs questioning the defensive side of his game and whether they see him having the tank to play in the midfield eventually. Clearly there will also still be question marks over his attitude.

Hard to know where he'll be taken.

At pick 50, I say his name in 0.02 seconds if he is on the board.

Hawthorn are very interested so I doubt we'll get a shot, but I've heard he would be in contention at pick 50 if available. My prediction is Garlett will be picked up between 20-40.

Why wouldn't Hawthorn take him? Imagine Garlett being mentored by Cyril.

Perfect place for him. Hill, Anderson, Cyril and Garlett. Wow. That's some magic for the next decade.
