David Astbury, Thank You

still cant believe how well dave moves for a 195 kp player. the talk of his leadership is very nice to hear too

i also thought when he moved forward in the 3rd it got us back in the game. i love structure

You’d have to say even at this early stage that Astbury / Griffiths looks far more promising than Schulz / Hughes.

Maybe Astbury just spent some of his time working on VCE assignments last year and prioritised his schoolwork over his footy?

It does happen, you know, strange as it may sound.

Hughes was better looking than Astbury & Griffths put together.

I'm happy if they look like a Damian Peverill/Craig Lambert lovechild if they play well.

I happen to know Davids father and asked if he could get David to sign my kids footy jumpers, the next day (which was the weekend off) there was a knock at the door and bugger me dead it was David Astbury. He came in ,and spent time chatting to the kids and their friends, signing jumpers and having his photo taken all in his own spare time, he said he enjoys giving back to the kids from the community where he grew up playing.
He spoke very highly of the Richmond FC and alll the coaches and staff etc. which is fantastic to hear.
I can't speak highly enough of the kid and his attitude and am sure he will have a bright future.

I am happy to see the encouragement Damien Hardwick is giving his young players including Dave. They are being picked in the team even when they make a few mistakes. Typically TW would drop them like hot potatoes and leave them to stagnate at Coburg. Dave Astbury is now a confident player in the team, willing to take chances and follow his judgement. I am proud to be his vice president.

I love no *smile*. :)

With McGuane, Trursfield, Moore settles in the back...

We only have (so far) Jack and Griffiths.

Is Astbury our 3rd tall forward? I love him as a player. just dunno where hes gunna end up yet..

I know a guy who knows him and apparently he's attacking by nature, just maybe a little more in his shell being his first year.

Forward or back? or since he moves so well, whats his motor like? A big Richo on the wing would be a hard match up..

evo's smiley is our other defenders when barry hall, tippett and fevola get a hold of them and take another contested mark in our d50 after kicking 6 in one half because muscles isn't there and they are forced to play undersized

You have no idea. Muscles is the right size for these guys? Muscles makes our other defenders look undersized?

McGuane, in the near future, will not be part of the best 22, probably Tambling as well, you'll be known as the kiss of death. I'll start calling you Looney soon.
