David Astbury, Thank You

Is he still recovering from injury? Crikey. Given he did it with still a couple of months left last season I was hoping he'd get a decent preseason in. I'm no expert on knee dislocations though.

With the news Roughead is back this week, I'm still shocked that he is still on sidelines.
The last time I saw him at training he wasn't even running laps
And that was late Jan.
What's the matter with him now???
A knee dislocation shouldn't take 8 months to recover from.

Interesting Carltank are saying only 6 weeks for Laidler.

Interesting; maybe there is something more then a dislocated knee cap.
Ligaments or ACL???

IIRC there was an interview with Dave and he said something about a knee reco.
At a guess I'd say he attempted to return and it was then decided he needed a full knee reco.

All I know is that they were hoping he'd be back by now but there has been complications with his knee.
Doesn't sound like he will be back any time soon that's for sure and given he's missed a chunk of pre season training, unfortunately this year will pretty much be a write off I would think.

Said he should be back mid year.
I have a feeling we will not see him at all this year.

Has he been placed on the LTIL??

Looks like we be able to upgrade 3 rookies if this is the case.

Astbury was supposed to get a run down at coburg (reserves) this weekend buttttt

David tweeted today:

"Disappointed I'm not back on the park this week due to quad soreness. Medical staff don't think it's worth risking at this stage #gutted

Thought I'd just say, if David can get back to his best and play in at CHF we should be playing finals in my opinion, hes so smart on the field and would take the pressure off Riedwolt and Vickery.

Very keen to see how he goes in the coming weeks at coburg, pity he ended up coming back to a two week break

I'm a big fan of Dave. Cant wait until hes back, although I don't expect to see his best for a while. He has almost 12 months off.

Astbury is miles off best 22 right now and miles off massively improving our side.

Given he was out for nearly 12 months he should play at Coburg for at least 6 weeks and if his form is good and his fitness is up some late season games heading into 2013 wouldn't be a bad thing.

Of course he is, definitely not a walk up start, if he can break into our side later this year it would mean he is killing it for coburg, which I believe he can do because hee is a class above VFL and I think he would instantly improve our side, like griff

Another bye for Coburg. The VFL draw is frankly ridiculous. 3 weeks between games.

It should go back to each side has a 2nds, it's a joke!
3 games in a row, 2 off!
