David Astbury, Thank You

....that can be used in attack. How hard is it Dimma?
I'm against Astbury playing up forward but it's getting to the stage he's going to have to and get some vfl gun like Batch in defence.

We recruited him as a forward, and wasn't the purpose of starting his AFL career in defence an experience on how to play as a forward?

Dave has come good this season big time and an integral part of our defensive tightness so any thoughts of moving him forward will do more harm than good.
Just glad that no one was prepared to take a punt on him during the last draft period

He's not good enough to play forward. Too slow and would get spoiled from behind too much. Leave him where he's succeeding

Agreed. The backline is our strength, look elsewhere to plop someone forward

Great mark & played well but ball movement remains his weakness. Very slow decision maker.
Yep I didn't want to put a negative on his very good game, but was so many times were the first option was on and we were away , but DA just seems to double guess himself. I think it was the first quarter he marked 65 out had 2 players on there own at 40 and justs could pull the trigger, anyway his a very much improved player and vital to us.

Said it before I'd hate to be behind him in the drive thru at Maccas

We need him to play forward Jake could cover him in the backline.

Astbury won't get the ball up forward like he does down back. Apart from his debut, he has never played a good game up forward.

So we need to try something. Can not continue down the same week in week out.

Was actually Melbourne, zips. Kicked 3. Woukdn't work forward now, doesn't even like to have a shot on the rare occasions he gets the opportunity. Tried him there once or twice since be became a defender and it hasn't worked. Besudes who takes his spot in defence?

The backline is the only consistently good thing this season, don't screw that up just in the hope we can plug a hole up forward.

All Australian Damien won't risk a potential big loss playing Dave up forward. Close losses are ok but big ones no way
