They didn't just drop their bundle as quickly as we did.

Not saying we are going to drop our bundle.

But our lads are lugging 3 premiership chains up the hill.

They are just dragging there bottom lip.

I can't believe some posters are contemplating moving on our 3 time premiership coach 18 months since last flag. I guess Dusty's has a similar drought of Norm Smith so we should trade him out for draft picks too.

It's amazing what a round 1 loss can do to a supporters perspective.

The cliff does come for some / most sides and our position reminds me a little of lolnorf when they hit the wall. Lolnorf had a fairly successful period making the prelims in 2014 and 2015. In 2016 they won their first 9 games of the season for the first time ever and then suddenly hit the wall, crashing badly and only winning 3 of their last 13 games, they only just hung onto 8th spot but they then lost the elimination final for that year - and then they lost the first 5 games of 2017 - they were a shadow of their former self.

The end comes quickly and when you least expect it.

Yes, my point is it came last year.

That's OK, and maybe its worth having one last shot at another flag this year, but IMO it's time to reset and rebuild.

All coaches have a used-by date, it's usually 10 years at one club. Dimma got his flags just before and after the ten years if I'm not wrong. There are always exceptions to a rule, but I called this last year, nothing to do with round 1.

I'm known to be often wrong of course. Cartoon wacked the Dogs last night so maybe our form is not as bad as we think. Issues of culture and midfield decline have been apparent for two years though.

Plenty will disagree and thats fine but to me just from my outsiders perspective. The energy the vim the vigor the "lightening in the bottle" the love has seemingly gone.

Something has been amiss at Punt Road since 2020, and the vibe is just not the same.

The catalyst for it only causes consternation and contention, but to me its clearly not the same spirit from an outsiders perspective.

Like I said, I may be seeing it all wrong.
It's hard to keep climbing the mountain after reaching the peak. No doubt the covid affected Premiership of 2020 took it's toll on many at our club.
We're at a challenging juncture in time that's for sure.
Get the feeling there will be a lot of departures at year's end if not before unless we turn things around pretty quickly this season.

Dramas started with a day spa in Qld and the arrival and departure of Mrs Hardwick within a few days. I’ve got no doubt about that

We won 2020. The most difficult season in the history of the AFL where the challenges and conditions were unprecedented. That campaign would have taken a lot out of our older players both physically and mentally.

I resigned to accepting we need to build the current batch of 1 to 3 years players into the next Premiership team.

Darksider. I'm a bit suspicious that Lamb22 has hacked your account.

I'm not sure we'll be much chop this year but I'd back Hardwick to see us through another period of development over the next 4-5 seasons, so long as he's still hungry for it.

Tend to agree, but he needs to create a new Mrs Hardwick for the rebuild to work.

Bloody hell. Even for PRE - this week the hyperbole is out of control.

The writing off of champion players, coaches etc off after 1, YES 1 round is insane.

Get a grip people.

A new season is a new season, but we won 2 from 9 after the bye last year so that form is continuing (after a sample of one game). If we lose to GWS then it's not yet SEASON OVER!!! but we also have the 'aints at Marvel the next week.

Hope I'm wrong.

Go tiges

2 years of COVID, the threat of nuclear war, a rebuild period for our team ahead, our greatest player in the last 35 years about to retire and Carlscum looking good - I'm surprised their are brightsiders left. To those that remain well bloody done you're better than me.
