Damien Hardwick

When you jump like a rat from a sinking ship you deserve some criticism.

Dont give me the oh poor me im burnt out crap he had to be talking to them for a long time.

At the end of the day Didn't have the guts to just be truthful to us or his wife.

How long going to repeat the same criticisms again and again? It's boring.

Cringe listening to him on Fox.
Interesting he was paired Mc Crae.
Talked about Dustin.

This is such a weird thread.
Dimma wins 3 flags.
He leaves and probably everyone would have wanted him gone at the end of the year, or the season before but not in the middle.
Leppacellarutten was a dream coaching team and none played at Tigerland. Neither did Dimma. Of course we are angry that other clubs recruit coaches who played for us.
Clubs poach our best players. We should be the only destination club!
And everything is Dimmas fault. Except the need to shine 3 more premiership cups.
Interesting comments here. Dimma got us 3 flags and left under dubious circumstances. For those on Pre that can remember when Tommy Hafey was sacked after delivering 4 flags and a runners up and went to the Pies and took them from spooners to a grand final in his first year, plus two other grand finals before heading off to coach Geelong, then leaving to coach the new Swans team taking four Geelong players with him, suggest to me that Dimma has his work cut out to match our Top Tiger great.

Hafey wasn’t sacked.
He was reappointed but resigned when he found out GR had voted against.

Tommy wasn’t sacked. He found out that Graeme Richmond wanted to get rid of him but the board wanted to keep him. He quit

Damien Dogwick walked out on the club. In contract. Costing us Kingsley. Had he played nice on his walk out we might have got Kingsley.

Was Damien Seed of Satan Dogwick sinful in walking out when he did? I don't think so but I am an extremist who does not believe in sin. If you do, and you want to stone Damien Dogwick's (marginally) illegally parked car to CTE in a lonely Broadbeach carpark I cannot condemn you. Not even if that CTE car rams his pitiful frontal lobe into a distant conscience inducing heretofore undiscovered galaxy.

Surely you can see the logic here.

Technically not sacked, but it sure felt like he was at the time. Biggest mistake the club ever made. Taking Collingwood from the spoon to runners up, and it took 2 Grand Finals to get rid of them, showed what a master coach he was.

I generally consider it to be a sacking in all but name. Insanity is another word for it - 4 flags, why would you not sign the guy up forever?

Calling Dimma dogwick is very poor IMO.

Did he do the wrong thing and make bad decisions and mistakes, sure, have any of us perhaps had a few tough years and not been perfect and made mistakes?.

I didnt like how he left either, or taking Daniel but he busted his chops for 14 years and gave us 3 flags ending a 37 year drought.

Whilst he is active in AFL at another club I wont be highly supportive but equally i am thankful and appreciative of his contributions.

We all praise and worship the Chimp, his leadership and values, in his book which i have read he touches on Dimmas mistakes etc, do you think he would approve and think its acceptable or even funny to call him dogwick?.

Each to their own Jack but i think its very poor.

I don't think Dimma will be successful at the Gold Coast.
He doesn't have the same backup, Peggy, Benny and assistant coaches.

The odds are stacked against Dimma coaching a Premiership at a second club.
The last two I can think of are Alan Jeans Saints and Hawks, Ron Barassi Carlton and North.
Edit I forgot about David Parkin Hawthorn and Carlton, Mick Malthouse West Coast and Collingwood.
