Damien Hardwick

Completely agree with the above.

Dimma did say pre game that we are going back to the richmond blueprint. Might take a few weeks to get it up and running.

Big test for Dimma.
Why did we leave it?

Suggest you watch the game not the scoreboard. Game plan is non existent when Castagna is chasing kicks in the back half of ground . There is zero forward pressure and zero press up to shrink the ground and keep ball inside F50
Got nothing to do about liking or non liking the coach
Why would 3 quality people leave a footy club when your at the top of the mountain and heading towards a 3 Pete
Really
Very good question
I can unnderstand Leppa wanting a year off after the Covid mess.
Mcrae i was very surprised to see leave end of season, especially after being promoted up in the ranks in 2020.
Inness was a big blow as well, got a better offer then the one we could match.

But very strange to lose 3 top coaches after a premiership

Have you heard the old fable about the scorpion and the frog?

A scorpion wants to cross a river but cannot swim, so it asks a frog to carry it across. The frog hesitates, afraid that the scorpion might sting it, but the scorpion argues that if it did that, they would both drown. The frog considers this argument sensible and agrees to transport the scorpion. The frog lets the scorpion climb on its back and begins to swim. Midway across the river, the scorpion stings the frog anyway, dooming them both. The dying frog asks the scorpion why it stung despite knowing the consequence, to which the scorpion replies: "I couldn't help it. It's in my nature

You mean 3 Premierships.

Richmond blueprint yeah right
WTF is Castagna chasing kicks in D50 when he should be applying forward pressure at ball drop inside F50
It’s either the message ain’t getting through or there is no message
Forward line is a complete mess
Can’t keep ball inside F50
Just rebounds straight out as forwards playing too high and ZERO forward press when going forward
There lies the problem geniuses

You will find Leppa still had a year left on his contract and negotiated his way out
McCrae they tried to lure back
Innes they should of kept
Repeat Soft tissue injuries this year are through the roof eg Lambert , Prestia , Cotchin , Etc

Castagna was chasing kicks up the wings and in D50 last year also.

What’s of interest is that the top 10 tacklers last night were GC players
Amazing star considering

Yep. Sorry sight to see all 3 exit at once.

What makes the change of game plan even more bizarre is that the exact same thing happened against the Pies in Prelim 2018 yet we held our nerve, stuck to the process and won another 2 flags. Everyone went on about the Pies finally found a way to beat Richmond and their game plan. This is why i think the 3 assistants that departed have been the biggest loss. Not the injuries. Not the out of form players. The terrible team selections so far this year just weren't happening the last 4 years. Yes we had far less injuries but we never tried to reinvent the game style or the players themselves. Dimma looking a panicked man in the box and in the media and seems to be rubbing off on the players.

Dimma should have taken his own advice and stuck to the process.

Can't blame Hardwick for all those errors, turn overs, and free kicks against but I think we can blame him for not tagging the best player on the ground and the difference between the two teams - Touk Miller.

Hardwick said at halftime we needed to tightened up on Miller but did nothing about it - cotchin went to him again.

I wonder if any of the other coaches or leadership team players flagged the idea of tagging Miller with Jack Graham.

I’d really love to know exactly what Hardwick’s game plan instructions are to the team to really understand where it’s going wrong. It was 1970’s football for a while last night as the players ran out of ideas & options as you well described.

Nah, they made space, ran past and presented on the lead more in the 1970s than we did last night o_O

injuries are certinly a concern.
Unsure if its because of our game plan that has worn out the players bodies or because on Inness leaving or maybe both
