Damien Hardwick

We need another successful premiership coach to replace Dimma with Simmo feeling the heat in the West he might throw his hat in the ring.

You can't recreate magic. We've all got memories that will never leave us. The 2017 finals series still gives me goosebumps. I can still hear the boos as the cats entered the MCG. I can still see the incredulous look on Brad Ottens face. Those moments are tattooed on my hippocampus. Whenever they pop up I smile. Thoughts of my heroes force a smile. Sheddas magic hands, Labletts relentless running, George's crazy chaos, Rance's heroism. And Dimma the ultimate example of someone eating a huge slice of humble pie and becoming who he was meant to be.

The beauty now is someone has a huge opportunity to come in with fresh eyes and create some new magic. I'm going to embrace it.
Absolutely unforgettable
Close to the best month in my life September 2017

Whack AFL HQ Dimma.

There are myriad reasons why a legendary coach might pull the plug mid-season.

One of those not discussed in this thread is the state of football. There is so much wrong with this Frankenstein. He has been very constrained and gagged by AFL policy in his comments, but it is evident to me in his body language and guarded responses that he does not like the way the game has been manipulated to bring about an outcome.

I hope he rips off the gag and let’s fly.

Unleash hell in them.

Good to see a Richmond coach go out on his own terms, as a success.
Allthough it came out of nowhere, and mid-year is just Mind blowing.
Hope his mental stresses can now somewhat be eased as he exercises free speech.

Blindsided by Hardwicks decision or the leaking of the news?
By Hardwick’s decision.
They were first made aware of it when contacted by Brown yesterday afternoon and asked him to stall the announcement. Balme didn’t know anything as of yesterday early evening. Said he thought the report must be wrong.

Nah- today is not the day. today should be about his glorious history with Richmond, and the people who were part of that.
there will be plenty of time once he is a little removed to tell people what he thinks- and then it wont come across like he is bitter that the success ended.

If that is true the club weren't aware, Browne must have got the info from Dimma or more likely via his partner either first or second hand.

exactly, he's too classy to do that today.

Having a huge dummy spit gains him nothing, particularly if he wants to coach again.

Am as shocked as everyone and the timing could have been better.

However his terms; all in or all out; I love it.

Grigga is one of the smartest campaigners going around.

Would it be too soon though?

If he doesnt come to RFC I reckon he might be the next Carlton Coach if Crazy Vossy loses the board.
Grigga would be awesome choice as head coach
Reckon jack reiwoldt would stay on and be an assistant
Coach under grigg,, both superior football brain's
Bring in Leon Cameron as a director of coaching role
To help grigga,,,then get newy and chaplain
And we are just about set for 2024

Browne said last night when he got the news he contacted Hardwick to confirm and didnt hear back and he called the club and they asked that he hold off until the announcement this morning.
