Damien Hardwick

I meant to post it here, sorry, the news report that Mr Damien Gob-Slob actually had bought an e-scooter, perhaps named the ShedSLED!

That Mr Damien Hardwick's demise was posted here on PRE two days ago is something I will not review publicly. You can if you want.

What amazed me most was that posters stepped away from the totally accurate prediction. Was it a threat that backfired?

Is it a John Northey thing? The whole thing is odd.

It’s a weird one ,

Does it make sense to be shocked but not that shocked at the same time .

Time to bring back Gary Ayres.

He would have to do it without the Riewoldts and the Cotchins but he would still have the Lynches, the Boltons and the Tarantos.

Forever grateful for the culture that enabled us to go on and win 3 flags but we all knew it was coming to an end soon. Thanks for the great memories and I wish you all the best in your next chapter Dimma.

Think there might be quite a bit to play out with this decision.
Would Dimma's decision occurred had the Tigers beaten Essendon.
By leaving early as opposed to the end of the season Dimma gets a chance to refresh and slot into a coaching gig in 2024. Leaving or being pushed at end of year would most likely meant he didn't coach next year.
Sort of wondering if Dimma realised he didn't have the desire or energy to rebuild the Tigers again.
Going to be very interesting to see how the players respond over the remainder of the season. I'm figuring it's going to be a roller-coaster ride from here on.
What must Taranto and Hopper be wondering??

Wow - Dimma u r one of my hero's.

2017 was such an emotional ride after so many years and so many jokes from press and so called mates and u made us relevant again.
2018 reguardless of the end was such a rush - knowing we could and most likley woud win game after game was totally brilliant.
2019 to get up after loosing Rancy and push away all the negative crap from the press was pure genius and makes u a legend in my view.
2020 was unbridled joy for me as living in Bundaberg and going to my only Grand Final - cant describe how lucky I feel. It was on my bucket list and u made it happen even with all the garbage coming from the AFL and the media to try and unsettle your players. U got them together under horrible conditions in the hub and made them and me believe.

Thank u Dimma so very very much - u r a legend and anybody (press and mates) who say negative stuff re u will be dead to me. Good luck and best wishes with what u do next. Like Frank said "u did it your way".

To begin with, I wanna say thank you Dimma for the memories

I never thought I would ever see one flag, let alone 3 and I will cherish these memories forever. I will be forever grateful. The man will be an immortal of our club one day. And I have no problem with him leaving at his time of choosing.

But it also raises a few questions for mine…

How long as this been going on for? Tom Morris said he heard rumours a few weeks ago, but it seems like Dimma has been thinking about this for a while. Didn’t he take an extra long offseason? And could this be the reason why we have been underperforming this season?

When he last extended his contract, I was pretty vocal in saying that this is likely to be his last contract and the club should put in place a succession plan. So, I feel the club stuffed up a bit here and missed a golden opportunity. Could this have been the sliding door moment where we could have groomed Fly Mccrae to take over from Dimma?

And if its true Dimma is citing burnout, then I would be really disappointed if he was appointed Port coach in 3-4 months time. I’m not naive, I’m sure he will coach again elsewhere. He’ll be in high demand. I just hope its not in 2024.

Very sad this morning. But the right call by Dimma. And true to his word and nature. Don’t want to see him coach again - doubt he will go down the Clarkson route. Can’t see an obvious successor - that one is coaching at Collingwood.

On reflection overnight the worst thing for me is that this was leaked to Tom Morris. Given the lack of leaks during Peggy's time I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

I wonder whether Brooke c's social media post of her hubby heading off to a rushed meeting in club kit on his day off yesterday got noticed by the grub. I hate that the world knows our private business these days

I previously posted that Dimma needs new assistant coaches so get rid of McQualter and X Clarke, but ..... let's have a deeper look at what McQualter can offer if they say he's highly rated.

Though most likely only a very small part in Dimma calling it quits , however the ongoing dribble he has to deal with with the likes of Cornes would eventually get to anyone
