Damien Hardwick

On reflection overnight the worst thing for me is that this was leaked to Tom Morris. Given the lack of leaks during Peggy's time I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Yes, reminds me of the bad old days where we used to leave like a sieve.

Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come and just a once off.

You can't recreate magic. We've all got memories that will never leave us. The 2017 finals series still gives me goosebumps. I can still hear the boos as the cats entered the MCG. I can still see the incredulous look on Brad Ottens face. Those moments are tattooed on my hippocampus. Whenever they pop up I smile. Thoughts of my heroes force a smile. Sheddas magic hands, Labletts relentless running, George's crazy chaos, Rance's heroism. And Dimma the ultimate example of someone eating a huge slice of humble pie and becoming who he was meant to be.

The beauty now is someone has a huge opportunity to come in with fresh eyes and create some new magic. I'm going to embrace it.

Though most likely only a very small part in Dimma calling it quits , however the ongoing dribble he has to deal with with the likes of Cornes would eventually get to anyone
I'm hoping he takes a parting shot on the state of the AFL media landscape

Geez I would be tempted to put someone on a 12-month contract with an option to extend based on KPI’s, whilst preparing to throw the kitchen sink at McCrae.

What he has gotten out of Collingwood is truly extraordinary; I can’t see the Tiges finding anyone near his level both in coaching and man management.

He is the next super coach in my eyes; and screwing over Collonwood to get him back would be immense.
Nice to think that he may want to come back to Richmond but why would he, even if we threw cash at him? He is already on the way at Collingwood that is a club comparable to ours in tradition, size etc. No way is he leaving there in the short term. He is already on the way to creating his own mark.

We will need to find our own man elsewhere but I’m afraid finding another McCrae is nigh on impossible. I think he had a lot to do with our success with in development, coaching the magoos and as an assistant.

We let him the man with the pixie dust slip through our fingers.

Big Sauce Jacobs ha ha ha is just so not wanting to do it.

Every fibre of his being is against doing it, even the blank stare.
Is he still standing in the goal square at the ‘G waiting for a kick?

Club was totally blindsided. Board in shock
Didn’t see it coming.
Now must scramble to take control

I wonder how much that crazy ,undisciplined last minute of familiar madness against the bombers came to influence dimma,s descision? We must of trained for that a milliom times and yet for the upteenth time we completly lost the plot.No senior leadership whatsoever in that minute...Add that to the stupid early free kicks once again given away by vlastuin, grimes and nank...the lack of basic skills and execution must of been the final straw..
Or maybe not
Dunno
I feel torn between sadness and the unbridled joy dimma,s dynasty brought me

This has hit the club like a tidal wave. Straight in the face.
Player's signed up over the preseason and last year that were told there coach would be Hardwick.
It will be interesting to see what we will be like over the trade period.
Hardwick was/is very well l liked in the eyes of the AFL players community.
A dud coach now could send us back to those years when players would say no even before we asked.

There’s no way he’s coming back; they were just my desperate ramblings.

I too feel that finding someone as good as McCrae will be impossible; the way he has Collingwood playing is electric.

(It pains me to say, but I enjoy watching them play)

As for letting him slip through our fingers; when McCrae left Hardwick stepping down wasn’t on the cards so what could the club have done? It was just bad timing.

But Collonwood? That hurts.

Has to be a professional process now Balme heads it for me with Gale and maybe a footy person from outside for a different view. Leppa my choice.
