The club should offer the WOP (Wisdom Of PRE) the coaching role for the rest of the year!

FC showed his contract expires at end of 2024, but Fly wouldn't be as narcissistic as Wossy to walk out on a club quickly.
Geez I would be tempted to put someone on a 12-month contract with an option to extend based on KPI’s, whilst preparing to throw the kitchen sink at McCrae.

What he has gotten out of Collingwood is truly extraordinary; I can’t see the Tiges finding anyone near his level both in coaching and man management.

He is the next super coach in my eyes; and screwing over Collonwood to get him back would be immense.

We're not getting Fly back. The Pies are his team and he's building something. No chance.

Plenty of candidates. We know what we're looking for and every prospective coach will want the job.

Speed kills.

Good choice to make Mc Qualter as interim. Has no chance of getting job and clears the air to do thorough process to find the next one.

There's a salary cap for coaching, and we would need to go over it to lure a coach with THAT playing group to Richmond. Never going to happen.

Ashley Hansen
Among the best prepared assistant coaches available, Hansen was targeted by Greater Western Sydney but chose to remain in Melbourne for family reasons. Contributed to the Western Bulldogs' success for nine seasons before joining Carlton as Michael Voss' right hand man and forward line coach for 2022. Has held development, VFL and a variety of assistant roles during his apprenticeship and aspires to a senior position. Noted for his ability to get the best out of players, he is a premiership coach at VFL level.

Jaymie Graham
Part of West Coast's coaching panel in the 2018 premiership winning season, Graham has furthered his experience at Fremantle this year and indicated previously that he would like to spend at least another season with the Dockers as an assistant before again pursuing senior opportunities. The 39-year-old was among the final candidates considered by Collingwood for the position won by Craig McRae. Filled in for Justin Longmuir in rounds three and four this season and led the Dockers to wins against West Coast and Greater Western Sydney. Had a short stint as a development coach with the Saints after his playing career ended.

Adem Yze
The logical coach in waiting after running second for the Greater Western Sydney vacancy and running deep into Essendon's process. Success has followed the Melbourne midfield coach, who was part of Hawthorn's successful era in a variety of positions including development, backline and strategy before joining the Demons ahead of the 2021 premiership season. Interviewed for the Adelaide position in 2019 and has ticked all the boxes to take the next step, completing the AFL's Level Four course.

Thanks Damien for bringing premiership success to Richmond that I’d never thought I’d live to see. Saw the 1980 flag as an almost 15 year old and figured that was it. Shared the 2017 flag with a Tiger supporting best mate at Punt Road after 30 years of watching misery on a weekly basis. He’s passed from Cancer after the 2019 flag.

Shared the 2019 flag with my younger daughter (15 coincidentally at the time) in standing room at the city end & created a memory the two of us will always share. I’m sure you’ll all have similar stories.

More importantly Damien brought professionalism, enjoyment, work ethic, commitment & team goals back to the club. With Brendan, Peggy, Board, staff, players and everyone else, they’ve established a true Richmond culture that will live well into the future.

All things must pass and nothing stays still. AFL is evolving and if Hardwick has lost the passion to continue then so be it. He probably could have rebuilt the list and evolved his game plan, but if he’s out of energy, then this is the right decision.

We’re forever grateful for what you’ve given us. Success and memories that can never be erased. I hope he coaches on Sunday so we can thank him in person.

And then it’s to the next chapter. New coach to drive the program, energise the ageing heroes and find the new ones. Create some more history. We’ve been here before and we’ll succeed again.
