Damien Hardwick

On the AFL site Dimma is telling Richmond supporters not to boo Stewart , what’s in the past is in the past, accidents happen.

Then directly after his piece they’ve got Geelong coach Chris Salt saying that coaches telling supporters how to behave is inappropriate!

I agree with Scott.

We got a soft kill tonight with our rusty lads working run-throughs all week (see presser) before meeting a very depleted and IMO overly confident Geelong.

Run-throughs? What about the heavy loads?

During the R7 game An Oxford Man said to me "Looks like lactic." During the R8 game Jesse said to me "Looks like lactic." I thought it was lack of connection, cohesion, organisation. But we have to acknowledge that our players were lethargic in the openings of R7-8 and fresh and busy in R9.

We were set for this game. And they were vulnerable. We were $4 H2H at the start of the week but started $2.9.

We played with no #1 forward, no #1 ruck and no #1 back. But were full strength other than that.

Geelong played fully structured but without their #1 back SDK, #1 mid Cam Guthrie, #1 Mid/HF Clangerflop. And Stengle starts in any team.

Our man outcoached Scott on the night, springing traps early then phasing into football. Justifying his ambition for the season.

"Sides that are 9-1 now will not make the eight," he said only a couple of weeks ago. He was talking about Essendon. Mr Damien Hardwick sounded off in temper or righteousness. It is time to deliver.

Kudos to Mr Damien Hardwick

When the chips are down he just rolls up the sleeves and gets to work

I believe him when he says he never lost faith. Belief is one if his most endearing qualities.

Interesting times ahead. Dimma knows we won’t go on a barnstorming run, and that there’ll be setbacks along the way with this group.

But maybe, just maybe, we are good enough to scrap our way into some extra weeks of footy.

A lot has to go right but we got Bart Cummings at the helm.

Yep, well-coached Dimma and the panel. I guess the "we must bottom-out now" strategy gets shelved for another year - only lasted three weeks this time.

Just temper the lah di dah a little.
Who was the bad guy coach?
Our coach just said get the ball forward and kick it through the big poles.
Dimmer. Ha!

In fairness we did bottom out. It was round 7.
We seem to have 1 of those games every year.
North last year
the Saints in 2021 (Ryan's debut)
The Hawks early 2020
The Pies or Giants early 2019 (or even the Cats mid way through)
The prelim (bad timing) 2018
the Saints mid way through 2017.
Rds 1-23 in 2016

Hardwick’s ability to “hold the line” in difficult times is beyond compare.

Whether we rally enough to make finals is still very much in the air, but something returned in spades on Friday night - spirit. Master coach at work here.

Sorry dude, profoundly disagree with the bottom-out strategy and happy to state that.

I'll post another thread on this topic that you can ignore if you wish.
no, you are responding to my content, as you go out of your way to do. everyone on the site knows this. i have had multiple admin staff comment privately on the peculiarity of this, from Rosy through to TT.

conversely, i do not need your football content and have you on ignore in the hope we can actually ignore each other. instead, i consume the content of folks who know about football.

I go out of my way to respond to all of the content I respond to, that's true.
