WTFWhat am I missing here? A player commits an act of assault on the field with a coward punch. A coach calls the player out with a fitting accusation of their character in defence of his player. And the issue is the coach using a few words?
And yet this rag, and others used to scrape excrement from a tradies crack, pout and stamp when players don't want to talk to them.
This is everything wrong with media, football, and the AFL universe.
I yearn for the day when football wasn't manipulated drama, blaring stupidity, and plastic pretence.
For me this is what football has become. And it is worthy of the same attention.
I think they also said that after the nightclub incident with Rioli and Bolton and look what happened afterwards...“As far as the club is concerned, that is the end of the matter.”
Cue Caroline Wilson and Kornknob rushing in early for preparation for FC tonight. Caz will have lots from her secret sources and Knob will be seething with outrage, demanding a heavy response from the AFL - "What a terrible look for the game; think of the message it sends to junior players ... AFL must act strongly ... ! "The media bastards are pushing, pushing, pushing on this storm in a teacup. Anything Richmond is just as bad as Richmondy.
One of my most played YouTube videos.
sunday morning coming down?
So it's total BS?Do you believe anything you read in that tabloid rag? If they said that sky was blue and grass green, I’d still go outside to check.
Media aren't always eye witnessesThe media are going off second hand reports, they weren't there, they were probably chasing ambulances, or stalking Dusty.
Where's Slug Jordan when you need him in the commentary box?The Willy player was report for a weak dog act. The please explain should be sent to that busted ass club not the RFC. Its called assault and it should be challenged every *smile* time by Dimma and everyone else that seen it.
And I never picked up until reading an article recently that pointed out that no-one was ever charged with the supposed assault on Daniel following grab of his girlfriend, or was it on Shai who intervened? Cannot even remember exactly but Shai broke his hand.I think they also said that after the nightclub incident with Rioli and Bolton and look what happened afterwards...

I watched it again on the replay. Mansell's push was light and just part of the play. Willy player took it seriously and then ran back and punched Mansell in the stomach/ribs from behind. Dimma reacted because of the coward punch, although I wonder how much mayo is on his reaction.Cue Caroline Wilson and Kornknob rushing in early for preparation for FC tonight. But still, what is Mansell doing pushing an opponent into the fence? (if true as alleged - I missed some Q1 but watched most of the match but covergae seemed to miss/censor much of the biffo).
I never get the macho posturing over the boundary line. Just so dumb and useless - the ball is out of play, so are you. Just so dumb, pointless and token.
But media were there; game was streamed for AFL and RFC websites etc. Will probably have footage.Media aren't always eye witnesses
Sort of my point. Plenty on here are commenting despite not being there or even seen any clips. Me included !But media were there; game was streamed for AFL and RFC websites etc. Will probably have footage.
Thanks for clarifying. Sounds like Mansell did nothing much and it's all on the Willy *smile* for a coward punch and, having an 'Irish temper' myself, I understand Dimma going in to bat for his players. However, it's just not very smart or in keeping with his role, public status and the experience he now has behind him. He is not a newbie coach but regarded as a statesman of the game after his great success.I watched it again on the replay. Mansell's push was light and just part of the play. I think you mean Ben Crowe? There's a confluence of events playing out for Hardwick at the moment. Been bubbling away for a while, I reckon. From where I sit, I believe he's feeling a lot of pressure ... and it's coming from all quarters.
Maybe a chat with Jeff Crowe wouldn't go astray, but who am I to say on that one.
