Aussies finally ose their 2nd wicket ow 2/173.From here you would think they would sail to a comfortable victory.

mmmm...maybe not so quick there mb. Aussies now 210 -4 with Gilly and ponting in now just before stumps. Could be a interesting first session tomorrow with the pitch playing tricks......
Might have been a bit quick Tuby, didn't see the end of the days play when the other 2 wickets fell.Clarke is a real disappointment.Bangies will need to get Ponting or Gilly out quickly,if so they have a real chance.Aussies still likely to win.

Re: Cricket

....Still wouldn't mind being in Bangladesh's position...Ok,Lee,Warne & Gillespie perhaps,no mugs with the bat but still a long tail,nonethless...May hinge on Ponting's wicket...Can see MacGill put in a position of trying to win the match with the willow....All set up for a good finish....

Re: Cricket

Michael Clarke certainly justified his recall.
Symonds should have played, at least his offies and medium pacers may have been handy, and he couldn't have contributed much less with the bat than Clarke.

How?

Sarcasm MB. He made 16 & 9 and got a runout. My point was Symonds, porbably offers a little more variety bowling wise, and couldn't have contributed less with the bat. As a Victorian, I would have preferred Brad Hodge be there.

Re: Cricket

Any comment on the disgraceful decision to give Hayden out?  The side angle camera was obscured by the umpire, they relied on two wide angle shots from far away, one seemed to support him as out and the other in but neither was able to decipher exactly where his bat was when the bails were removed. Can't work out how this can be given out.

Yeah, that was a shocker alright... what ever happened to benefit of the doubt!

Anyone want to guess where the 3rd umpire who made the decision is from?

Re: Cricket

Gilly's out!

5/225 (new ball due in 2 overs)

Agree bigwow.Warne apparently not happy with his lbw but looked plumb to me.He's conveniently forgets about all the lb's he gets.

Re: Cricket

Looks like it might be Lee & Dizzy to the rescue, along with Punter... it's getting tight.

Must be almost time for Lee to bat above Warne

Agree,Lee has been a pretty solid batsman for sometime now.

He has a better technique, and he would have a better avg, and has been more consistant than Warne over the last couple of series since/and including the Ashes.

Re: Cricket

Aussies 6-255.

Yep, reckon it's time for Lee to bat after Gilchrist. He averages 20+, and generally looks more like a batsman than Warne does. Tighter technique, and better judge of which one to hit, and hits it further!

Re: Cricket

Yeah, at lunch... 17 to go and 3 wickets in hand... and with Punter & Dizzy at the crease... game over
