Neil Wagner the happiest person on the field when Brook was run out. Thinks he might be able to stay under 5 an over now
Root just cost Brooky around 10 on his average with that runout
The Kiwis (and basically every attack in history) consistently bowl too short to Joe Root. He feeds off short of a length deliveries yet they can't help themselves. You have to be up and straight to Root, he's the worst front foot player I've ever seen with an average over 50. As soon as you drop short and/or give him width he carves you up.
He's just not a very good bowler. Not aggressive enough, constantly bowling way outside off to Stokes which Stokes is leaving. England have plenty of time, they don't need to chase deliveries, the onus is on NZ to win this game. If time drags out, then England win. Its simple so there is no point to those deliveries, they aren't setting anyone up. They are just wasted, the cynic in me says thats to preserve his average as when he has bowled straighter they have punished him as he's a very average spinner.
When's the last time we saw a tied test? Could happen here if they get a single.
Bloody umpires!! How can you not give a wide when it goes a foot over the batsmans head. They did a side on of that delivery before the wicket and it was a foot over his head.
Should have had that tie that you mention.
