Question...if Starc was fit and firing before the 2nd test, do you think he would have been picked as the sole quick in front of Cummins?

Dave Warner saved the ignominy of being dropped by being declared injured for the rest of the series and returning home.

Victorias Matt Short continuing his excellent 2023 by making a ton v SA today. His scores this calendar year have been:
119, 70, 108*, 27, 58 for Victoria and :
0, 0, 40, 39, 20, 38, 100*, 38 for the Strikers in the BBL. He’s made a first class ton, a domestic one day ton and a T20 ton this year.

Yeah was impressed with him today, the 119 and 70 are in this current Shield game, hopefully putting the Vics into the Final.

Won the BBL Player of the Tournament and finished top run scorer and 3rd most runs in the season before.

He's 27, what are we doing though, we're like the England of old, playing them from 30 on and not from like 21 years old.
Batsmen should be getting a hit in the Australian team like at 21-23, we're wasting their years, wasting their talent.

My question is.......if Starc, Hazelwood and Green weren't fit, why were they selected for the tour? And why was Agar selected to go to India.

Same with Swepson. They knew his partner was expecting when he was selected and that he may leave the tour for the birth.

Aussie cricket team selectors come across as a bunch of muddle headed Wombats. Team selections have been all over the place recently, so many ill thought out picks that defy logic. George Bailey hasn't covered himself in glory at all.
