Cricket

I thought they had changed the rules around free hits so the ball was dead if it bowled you after batsmen started going behind the stumps on them.
And I thought the keeper couldn't take the ball in front of the stumps. That stumping should have been a no-ball.

Amazing game. More twists and turns than an airport thriller.

No. It made contact with the batsman, so it in effect becomes a run out.

Possibly the greatest T20 Match ever played. There will be people diving for rule books everywhere.

Big call from the ump on the free hit no-ball. Seemed a late call.

Since when did that bowl leg side from Nawaz become a wide?
A long time ago. Anything down legside is a wide in white-ball cricket.

Fair enough call I reckon. It was his second waist-high full toss in the over. You can't let them keep getting away with that *smile*.

Replay showed it clearly above waist height at the point of contact.

No need for rule books. It was umpired perfectly.

A World Cup was won on 4 runs taken after a deflection off the stumps.

I wasn't sure but it hit the batsmens pad. He was officially out stumped though.
Yeah, I think it's still stumped. They weren't attempting a run.

Man, Indians are excitable people. Gotta love 'em.

Ashwin didn't attempt to hit and backed into the ball.
He doesn’t have to attempt to hit it. If the ball is down leg side of the batsman’s normal address position, it’s a wide. He half stepped back, then returned to his normal position, meaning the wide call was absolutely the correct one.

OK, just thought it would be a wide if the ball was not in between both return creases.
