Cricket

The Aussies are playing and missing because the ball's not full enough.

Buttler should have swallowed the chance off Marnus.
They aren’t known for their brains most Quick’s. Length is the most important aspect of fast/medium bowling. If I had their pace I would have taken plenty of wickets. Good batsman dine out on bowlers that they know cannot get them out bowled or LBW.
Every time the English hit the right length they look dangerous and beat the bat . The Warner dismissal is a unicorn.

Light wise, it's a bad time for Smith to come in, a couple of quick wickets and England are back in it.

Any chance one of the myriad of commentators covering this test could mention that Adelaide Oval is such a beautiful place to play cricket.
Can't recall having heard it at all today.

A slight contrast from when Australia scored 480 runs on the first against South Africa a few years back.

All this talk about the over rate. How about cricket actually moves into the 21st century (and this is especially important with this one being under lights), how about they continue play until the overs are bowled? Why be concerned with a time limit and only adding an extra 30 minutes on. I don't understand why they don't just come to the party. The way to do this with the non pink ball tests is you start a bit earlier. I've never understood why they can't start most tests before 11am.

Wouldn't kill them to give us a glimpse of the sunset occasionally either.
Your mate Warnie is pretty keen on Adelaide. .... obviously he must've done/doing/does some of his best work there. ..... I'll check Wikipedia to see if he's got a kid named after the city!

They used to do it. Players' associations stepped in to protect their precious little millionaires from working more than 6.5 hours in a day.

I wonder why they don't take more advantage of the day/night concept.
People want four day Tests?
How about 4 sessions a day with a big one hour break in the middle
12.00-2.00, 2.30-4.30, 5.30-7.30, 8.00-10.00.
Games would be even longer, 16 sessions instead of 15.
Let's not forget that 9 of the 22 players are off the field ALL THE TIME, anyway!
Professional athletes ffs.
Also I would ban drinks breaks - they get enough quick drinks at wickets and reviews anyway.
Penalize slow over rates with RUNS - it would stop overnight.
And one out of the box ... eight ball overs!

Would be like the AFLPA's saying they wouldn't play more than 25 minutes in a quarter (actual time not game clock). Its just dumb. They are employed to play a 450 over test, they shouldn't get out of it by using a slow over rate. It just seems like the most obvious answer to the question about over rates, rather than trying to penalise teams / captains etc.

West Indies used to have a good answer that they always finished the match within 4 days anyway.

Of course they would be winning in 4 days but otherwise similar

I am watching this on a (very good quality) internet stream ... but it's always a minute or two behind.
I read those last three posts before it happened!

Yeah, I keep hearing it, I wanna hear someone say where it’s not good to play test cricket as every ground is “a great ground to play test cricket”.
