Harris not up to it.

England *smile* up again leaving Wood out. Five medium pacers.

Wood's managing an ankle injury so I suspect thats why he's out. The unfortunate thing for England is those players that are different from these 4 bowlers are all injured too, Curran (similar pace but a leftie), Archer. Both those 2 would provide other options. The one I was a bit surprised wasn't picked was Dom Bess. He's a decent bat to replace either Robinson or Woakes as the number 8 if they were concerned at how long the tail was.

Curran is a similar pace to Jack Leach.

25 overs in a session. England again thumbing their noses at the spirit of cricket.

Assume you are taking the *smile*, but he isn't. He isn't express quick, but he's in the low 130's. The main difference he provides is the angle from the left arm compared to so many right armers.

They must be comfortable with not being paid, being as none of them received a cent of their match payments from the 1st test due to the slow over rate.

The selectors faith in Harris should be admirable i think it’s just silly. Haven’t seen a guy struggle so much since Warner and Bancroft in 2019.

Feels a lot like Englands bowling in Brisbane. Bowled well but not quite getting the nicks. Perhaps a bit short today that may have affected it, but heaps of plays and misses again. Just doesn't seem to be going our way.

The Aussies are playing and missing because the ball's not full enough.

Buttler should have swallowed the chance off Marnus.

England unfit. Bat for time & keep them in the field for as long as possible, ideally until 8.30pm tomorrow

With the heat coming and the over rate issues you'd think Root will have to do a fair bit of bowling tomorrow if Australia push on, which is going to make it hard for him to do the amount of batting they will need from him.

As big a selection mistake as the first test line up I reckon.

Ironically they probably have the lineups right, but for the wrong tests. This should have been the lineup in Brisbane, and the Brisbane lineup for Adelaide. Reckon they've got that wrong.

Tuned in for some watching from about the 20th over. Day one of a test n the Poms bowling massively short with the field set for square of the wicket catches or run containment.
Might keep the run rate down for a while but as long as the bats don't get too stupid they can settle in for the long haul n grind the Pommie bowlers into the dust.

1 for 164 that's a fair bit of hard yakka for the Poms n might get fairly ugly by the end of day two if the Aussies can build big from here.

Lucky it’s a day/night. If it were just a day test, Stokes would risk looking like a lobster. Maybe he already is ? I’ll think about that…

You never need five seamers.
