Cricket

It might be treasonous as an Aussie, but I'd like to see the Poms put on a good score in this innings so there's something to watch over the weekend.

Nothing worse that a lopsided test match.
Yes, as long as Aust doesn’t have to get 150 odd runs, I have bad memories.

Would people accept a three test series that gave the touring side the extra time to play lead up matches instead of the traditional five, if it produced a more competitive series?

The decline in international teams preparation is responsible for the home dominated series we are seeing more and more, I think.
The loss of revenue wouldn't allow for that to happen.
If it wasn't for the IPL and the like, teams could come out and play those lead up games that used to be great to go and watch.

I would accept the touring side getting here earlier and preparing properly.

Just come out here earlier if necessary. Being underdone in cricket is one of the worst excuses ever. They've all played a shedload of cricket.

Yes !!!!!! Big wicket from Green to root out Root.

Just need to get Stokes out now, I've still got visions of Leeds when he won England the unwinnable test at Leeds.

Amazing what happens when you hit the right length. Fast bowlers in general bowl way to short.

If Green's body holds up he is going to be our best all-rounder since Miller. His bowling has been super impressive - good pace and bounce, bit of movement and a heavy ball. And he will make a lot of runs and take plenty of catches.

Finally.

Must be Retro Round.

Can they replicate the scratchy reception? Please no Norman May, though.

Yes, his outswing at a very good clip is going to trouble a lot of batsmen.

I don't mind the higher, slightly wider view from Starc's end. It's like sitting in N43 at the G.

Excellent ball to Root. Roots actually played really well this test, out to 2 pearlers. Hoping that bodes well for the series. Was disappointed that neither Malan or Root went on to get a hundred, Malans dismissal obviously the more disappointing.

Scoreboard will look like a very comfortable win for Australia, but this game has been a lot closer than the scoreboard shows. A bit more luck whilst England were bowling and this game could have been a lot closer, hard to win though when you are bowled out for 147 in the 1st innings.
