Re: Cricket

A great victory Aussies...maybe that'll shut up the Barmy Army?  No, I don't think it will. They can worry about the singing we'll worry about the winning.

And in other news.

Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif have had their bans for doping overturned.

My question, how?  ???

Unbloody believable and a disgraceful decision - at least we know who are running world cricket atm.....

Shades of the first time he was dropped in his career against Sth Africa...

Not even Punting can save him. :wave

Re: Cricket

That was superb.

What a fantastic result, although I could have sworn someone was unhappy about it :whistle

Can't complain about the excitement level of the game now.

Gripe for the day-Australia appeals too much.
Warne & McGrath in the end nearly appealed evry ball.Disgraceful.

Dodgy lbw decision against Harmison as ball appeared to be going over the stumps.Harmison didn't help his cause by not offering a shot but still there was doubt & a poor decision.

Regardless of the result Paul Collingwood has really stood up for the Poms.

Possibly the greatest win we've ever had against the despised enemy and we are this negative??

LMFAO..........I am delirious :ner :ner :hula :hula

Try living in England for a few years like I did and see if your attitude changes.

PS.....Ready Bear, a result again huh?........just when I was going to say I told you so.......... ;D

Re: Cricket

YEAH!!!!

Go you good thing!!!! 8)

Have a bit of that Pietersen....great overthrow for a boundary, and to see Freddy getting 7 off one ball...just killed myself laughing... :hihi

2-0......let's bury them 5-0! :clap :clap :clap

Re: Cricket

Great result by the Aussies & the ashes are as good as back with us.Giles should have his papers stamped for Poms & Martyn under pressure.Hussey would be a better option at no 4 & is probably the 2nd best bat in the world at the moment after Ponting.Poms batting this morning apart from Collingwood was woeful.

Bit harsh there MB 182 in first test, got a corker short ball 1st innings and threw his wicket away for benefit of going after quick runs in the second chasing victory.

If anyones gotta go its Martyn.

Re: Cricket

I stand corrected about my comments of Martyn pre-series...he needs a break, possibly forever. To be fair, he middled every ball he faced today...all 4 of them... :hihi :hihi :hihi

Clarke to 4, Hussey to stay where he is (I like him there), Watson/White/Symonds to 6?

No, the Barmy Army aren't great at all. They provide a bit of light entertainment but they seem to miss the point that there's a cricket match on an it seems us Aussies go to watch it and the Army go to sing. I've had the misfortune of sitting amongst them in '98 and it drove me crazy!

I know it's a cultural thing. They've been brought up watching the worlds most boring game and therefore have to amuse themselves to pass the time. We've been bought up on the worlds fastest (and best!) game and haven't had to worry about singing to pass the time.

Having said all that I'm thinking about buying a Barmy Army top off eBay and sitting amongst them again and giving the English players sh!t under the guise of an Army fan!

Not questioning his spot Craig, just mentioned he didn't have a great test.Hayden would want to make some runs soon as Jaques will be breathing down his neck.

Agree with the generality of your choices phantom. I'd have Tait in just ahead of Johnston. Time to forget about Martyn for good especially after his inept and undiciplined shot today. Time to move on and with the sound of what the pitch is like you have to include McGill but are the selectors up to being so forward thinking....
