Cotchin and Riewoldt

Let’s see first.

Both have mentioned a number of times that this year is it.

Wonder what has changed if this is true?

If so would expect an announcement or will they wait till seasons end?

I don’t see them as selfish type players and the club I think would find it extremely hard to do a Hawthorn and force retirements on these two unbelievable, loved, admired and grateful for their contributions to the RFC & culture.

You would also that it would be interstate trips or 5 day breaks?

My other concern is that Cotchin is seen as the ‘spiritual leader’ and they have no confidence in any of the forwards in the twos, since giving up draft picks next year also has forced the club to reconsider their view on Jack.

Maybe there are question marks on :

Lynch
Gibcus

Thus will also possibly give both Nankervis & Grimes another year as ‘official captains’ before all four retire in 24?

What’s Nanks age and contract status?

**** anyway we are all theorising without confirmation **^*

Knowing it's a stupid station like SEN, I wouldn't be surprised it was just Mini repeating what he said before about Chimp and Jack (deciding themselves when to retire) and these idiots took the words all out of context in the news report.

Who said it ?

Last night he stated that Blair, Tim and Galeforce would make the call on that for next year or not, and that otherwise he was none the wiser what the situation was.

I heard it on their 10:30am news report with Mini's name mentioned.

We are talking about SEN when all's said & done. Accuracy is not their hallmark.

I'll believe it when the club announces it officially, 'til then it's all just gossip.

Nothing on mid day sport update. Nothing by Dwayne Dwussel either. So far….
Nothing was asked to Mini last night on the Laurel & Hardy show so let's see if it was asked in today's presser at training.

Exactly TF.

I can live with Jack going around again. Cotch no he is cooked.
Both are so cooked they are stuck to the bottom of the pan. It would be completely stupid to let either of them go on. In saying that there have been some stupid decisions made out of our list management team over the last few years.

I agree. I think Cotch is replaceable in what he is providing, especially when we have Hopper in the team as they are playing the same role and when Hopper is there, Cotch plays a role he isn't really well suited for.

With Jack its a bit more difficult especially if there are lingering concerns around Lynch.

My guess is, both will retire at the North game, but we will leave the decision on Jack until late, he could potentially be offered a 1 year deal for next year post the trade period but we will have wanted to give him a send off assuming we get some targets in during trade period.

The only reason I can live with Jack going again is because we have failed to recruit his replacement. Van Rooter would have been good but we took a half back flanker instead. We could have selected Brandon Ryan in the mid season draft. Again we selected a half back flanker instead. Ryan will be a gun mark my word. His father is a friend on mine. A family of late developers. The whole family are gun footballers. I have nothing against the players we selected but we desperately needed a decent key forward. Unfortunately I think we might have a few half bank flankers in our recruitment team lately.
