Coronavirus

These removalists and the company that employs them should be facing serious recriminations. They’re selfish and obnoxious actions have single handedly lead to another outbreak in Victoria.

I’m beyond ropable. *smile* arseholes.

I suspect this is probably a small company where the guy who owns the business is also one of the removalists.

They did everything wrong, apparently permit said 1 truck, they brought 2. Permit was to wear masks, they didn't. Permit was to be less than 4 hours in the home, they were there for 5. Permit was for the delivery, they then did another pick up.

I don't care if it bankrupts them, VIC need to show that this sort of thing won't be tolerated. A fine of over $100k seems about right to me, if they can't pay it, then wind them up. Their own fault completely.

Does the Constitution still allow the Governor General to dismiss the Prime Minister ?
Yep. But Morrison gave Hurley the job. Then again, Gough gave Kerr the job...

"Lieutenant General David Morrison, the 2016 Australian of the Year, credited Hurley with the phrase 'the standard you walk past is the standard you accept'." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Hurley

Admiralty House is pretty much next door to Kirribilli House. Surely Hurley goes for the odd walk.

Dan should have shut the border to NSW much earlier.
It wouldn’t have mattered. Those *smile* removalists had a work permit so would have come through anyway.
and proceeded to break every bloody rule along the way

Hearing rumours their cargo was more than just furniture which might explain why they were reluctant to answer questions?

It is the kids (Barwon Heads school) of the teacher at Bacchus Grammar. The teacher is a male who has a mate who lives in the Maribyrnong apartments and they went to the MCG Carlton Geelong game together

Yes...and may be one other teacher (pending)
“Wearing a face mask will be mandatory indoors (not at home) unless an exception applies – this includes all workplaces, and secondary schools,” the department said. “Masks must also be worn outdoors if you cannot maintain 1.5m distance from people who aren’t from your household (such as at an outdoor event).”

So presumably, the crowd (if allowed) tomorrow night will all have to mask up.

I had so many compliments for Brisbane prepared too. They won't hear me !!

No Lockdown for Vic.

Its a financial decision by the sounds and a decision that has pressure from Feds not to do it.

Good news i guess...risky though.

More restrictions though, back to masks inside, maybe restrictions on numbers. The response is getting more nuanced.

I don't know why the identities of these arseholes and the company they work for are being are being protected. It is very clear that these people have absolutely flouted all COVID protocols and regulations and that has lead to yet another outbreak in Victoria. And like the last one this has leaked from interstate. It is completely unacceptable that this has occurred through the deliberate actions of arseholes from interstate. It is still not clear why the went on to Maribrynong and then to SA after the initial job in Craigieburn. Did their permit allow this? If so that is ridiculous and the Vic authorities need to be held to account. Or did the permit only allow them to deliver to Craigieburn and after that they were to return straight to Sydney?

Regardless, both them and their employer should face severe recriminations for deliberately endangering public health. They should be named and shamed. In this instance I have absolutely no issue with that. Being a *smile* *smile* removes the right to have your identity shielded from the public. *smile* them.

The Covid + Melbourne couple who , believing they were special I suppose, drove out of Melbournes last lockdown and travelled to Caloundra Via western NSW, directly triggering a 3 day lockdown in Brisbane and all sorts of dramas up the Newell Hwy.

ended up getting fined a total of $10K.

The fine for taking a rabbit into Queensland is $66k (I am not joking).

If you robbed a bank, you'de affect a dozen people and cost 500 grand and you'de get 15 years in the big house

Knowingly ignore public health rules, you affect millions and cause billions of economic damage.

Its a bit like the MRP.

I dont get it.

The Removalists are dreadful and I reckon deserve 6 month. They had a permit to work, but flouted it? The Melbourne holiday makers I reckon deserved 12 months, they didnt even have a permit or a reason.

How long did Stackman serve again?

Yeah the COVID couple out of Melbourne to Caloundra is a good comparison. What these removalists have done is worse and has had significantly greater consequences already. I don't believe that couple infected anyone else, which by no means excuses their actions. But these guys have flouted every regulation which has lead to at least 7 infections so far with no doubt more to come and the likelihood of locking down a city of 5 million people once again. Their actions are completely unconscionable and all three of them plus the employer should be absolutely hammered.

The person from Craigieburn should also cop a fine akin to the couple who travelled to QLD. He/she went to Coles and deliberately breached quarantine regulations. One poor bloke has already contracted COVID because of that breach. People should not be exposed due to deliberate breaches by arseholes.

Like I said, I agree the removals (with the info we have), have behaved dreadfully and illegally.

and im not playing a perverse game of State of Origin here,

But I rate the Melbourne holiday makers during lockdown worse.

In that, they snuck out of lockdown, unknowingly Covid infected, to go on holiday, and crossed 2 borders illegally. whereas the Removalists got the required permit to do permitable activities, unknowingly Covid affected, crossed 1 border legally, broke the rules, and seem unrepentant (we need to be careful of trial by media, obviously; its come out that the Limo driver who originated this latest Sydney lockdown, contrary to all media reports, WAS wearing a mask and was diligently Covid safe, other than being vaccinated. And I think the fact he wasn't vaccinated was probably out of his control.).

FWIW, If I was a judge, I'd throw the book at the removalists and id throw 2 books at the holiday makers.

can you imagine if they called for victim impact statements when putting these people (note to self; always examine your POV forensically when you say or write the phrase 'these people') before the court? It would break the internet.

There is 2 for Fridays figures as reported after 8pm last night. Vic.

how do you blokes have such an intimate knowledge of real time Covid cases?

Is it Bunnerz Andrews or ThegDog Andrews?

I get all my Covid info off this thread.
